I would have chosen the Dresden Dolls as the best artist ever... Or maybe Editors, I don’t know.

The Queen of "the miracle"? An unusual but captivating ranking.

The Who at 111th place?!! You would have been more respectful not to include them at all... :D

Under the title of the ranking, I wrote "Musical Artists...(accurate up to the tenth position: the rest are scattered names and there are still more missing...). I'm working on it...just place them all in the eleventh position)". Feel free to check... A little more attention before commenting, please ;-)

Put Nada, Michael Jackson, and Madonna ahead of Pink Floyd and The Who, and you have a lot of admirers on Debaser... Where's the mistake?

So: 1) Besides the fact that having a lot of "fans" on DeBaser doesn't necessarily mean being "competent" (at least musically... and I have plenty of examples...) 2) Besides the fact that one can perfectly prefer Nada to Pink Floyd without necessarily enduring "gratuitous" irony 3) Besides everything, at the beginning of the ranking, I wrote a note that says (verbatim): "Musical Artists...(true up to the tenth position: the rest are scattered names and there are still some missing...). I'm working on it...put them all in eleventh position)" so I would say you should read everything before leaving comments. Best regards.

If you can't tolerate a bit of harmless free irony and can't laugh at yourself a little, I recommend: "Knowing how to laugh at oneself helps well-being: creative laughter courses to discover the techniques of comedians." For more information: National Academy of Comedy – General Direction in Turin (there are other locations in Italy) tel 01119702410 www.accademiadelcomico.it. I believe it's a paid service, though.

Don't worry, I can laugh at myself (if you take a look at the things I've written on DeB, you'll see that's true), and I have no problem with irony and self-irony as long as they're motivated and contextualized: yours wasn't an ironic comment but simply a comment "out of nowhere" from someone who writes just for the sake of writing (or talks just for the sake of talking, you see what I mean), and even this last one (which feels a lot like free climbing on mirrors) confirms that impression. So, I repeat, before leaving comments, think about it. Best regards. P.S. Have a laugh for yourself, come on...

Anyway, 4 months to think about the nonsense of the Academy of Smiles isn't bad. Congrats!

"Apart from the fact that having a lot of 'fans' on DeBaser doesn't necessarily mean being 'competent' (at least musically... and I have plenty of examples to give...)" Damn no! Now give the examples, you can't throw the stone and withdraw your hand.

See that you're touchy? "Put Nada, Michael Jackson, and Madonna in front of Pink Floyd and The Who and you’ve got a bunch of admirers on debaser....Where's the error?" It simply means that anyone expressing a preference for these figures on debaser is promptly massacred with a slew of negative votes; just look at the recent reviews of Vasco Rossi's album. You took it very personally, but you shouldn't have.

To be honest, I found myself here because I was curious about the debaserians who included The Cult in some rankings. I had never read the first response until yesterday. That's all.

@Nes: Ironically, I could respond by saying that you, certainly, are not one of my "fans" and therefore you’re fine :-D Seriously, the answer is that the average culture (musical and otherwise) on deBaser is not as high as one might think (or at least over the last 3 years, with the defections/movements of many of the more "refined" users, including me, of course, who no longer has the time to interact here as I would like ;-D it has significantly decreased). That's all. Names of users who would undermine my self-esteem if they were among my admirers? Come on... they are well known :-D I'm not someone who has hidden dislikes (from my point of view, the only valid one) over these years. Best regards.

@Nickfarrjones: I may be touchy, but we both know very well that this last point (that you propose) is not the "reading" you wanted to convey in the first comment, and even if it were (in the best case), the fact remains that you wrote a comment (casting a sneaky judgment between the lines) without reading the entire text (and you admitted it too), and that alone is enough to form a (negative) opinion about you. Not to mention that you weren't the first one (read the other comments), and with the others, I had been overly courteous. But this trend of firing "blind" comments on this site is rampant, so it’s better to end it here. Take care.
Ps. 3 months, not 4... my apologies.
