Manowar is an American heavy metal band formed in 1980, known for epic themes, emphatic live shows and the self-styled 'true metal' identity.

Formed in New York, notable members include Joey DeMaio (bass) and Eric Adams (vocals); early lineups included Ross "The Boss". The band is known for epic/symphonic elements on some releases and for a series of live DVDs (e.g. Hell On Earth / The Absolute Power).
