hahaha yes, I have the morning free and I thought it was a good idea to create a new ranking :D. I think the 1 is the only fixed position, along with the 2. The rest is a mix!

Let's move on: 28-29-40... that is, ISIS, Negazione, Bad Religion... all groups seen live, to be precise.

Except for Negazione (registration issues, sigh), I can also give you the "check" on the live shows! Isis is one of those concerts that years later I still remember as if it were last night.

I agree on ISIS; I saw them in June 2007 at the Transilvania in Milan and it was cathartic. Never before have I experienced such vastly different sensations during a single track. From the urge to mosh to a sensory, spiritual release in the same piece... Incredible this ability of theirs to "devastate" you.

The live sensations of ISIS place them very close to those experienced with Godspeed You! Black Emperor, beautiful apocalyptic trips that transport you to another reality. The wall of sound created by Turner and the others was something deeply moving ahahaha.
      *I place them, mon dieu.

Do you remember where you saw Aaron and the others?

sisi Bologna, at Estragon 2009, one of the last chances (unfortunately) to enjoy them live!

What a wonder position 67: The Queen is never dead!!!! By the way, it's my birth year...how "old" I am!!!!!!!!

You two made me want to listen to "Petitioning The Empty Sky" by Converge and "Hatful of Hollow" by The Smiths again. Not exactly the same thing :D but I appreciate you both a lot.

My beloved The Smiths... I'm here to point out a new obvious listen!!!!

Unfortunately, I only have Jane Doe among the Converge albums... I'm afraid to buy others because I fear they might not hold up to the comparison. Ah, to be honest, I also heard the one from 2012, but it seems quite different from Jane Doe...

I don't know if they can hold up to the comparison, but I can tell you that their discography is truly complete, and I include the '90s albums that many forget, precisely because of Jane Doe. The latest AWLWLB is different and renews their sound, also recovering elements from Petitioning The Empty Sky and early '90s releases (take the compilation Caring & Killing as a reference). But trust me, You Fail Me is an album that comes close to Jane Doe (though not quite reaching it). No Heroes and Axe to Fall are other excellent albums, even if AtF carries some doubts for me, but it contains infinitely classy tracks. I don't know, if you want to give it a try, I've made you a sort of summary :D

The 3 titles you mentioned are the ones I had in mind for a purchase as well. Thank you so much, and I'll get them as soon as possible :)

I agree on everything: you provided a perfect analysis of Converge's enormous discography; the fact remains that albums like Jane Doe are hardly replicable, even while appreciating all the band's subsequent works. The title track remains a sonic nightmare, long and pitch-black, that chills me every time...and I find myself always glancing over my shoulder in fear!!!

Yes, Jane Doe is one of those albums where you say "one comes out every so many years" because it has the merit of redefining hardcore and setting the bar quite high for aggression, technique, and "viscerality." Bannon's voice in there is illegal, nearly inhuman. @Psycho. De nada! I'll be waiting for your opinion in the future, then :)

Spectacular list! Some things I don’t know, others I might have placed lower maybe. But great names, a "must hear before you die" for sure :D great!

Ah, there’s no specific order, just the top 3 (maybe) ahahaha. I would’ve gone crazy otherwise :)

So, on Wednesday they're sending me the 3 Converge CDs you suggested. As soon as I've listened to them, I'll let you know :)

I’ve been listening to them for a couple of hours. No heroes especially is beautiful… well, thanks!

No Heroes is very straightforward as an album, the fact that before Grim Heart/Black Rose there are basically no slowdowns! :). "You Fail Me" is perhaps the most challenging/tangled, but I'm glad you're enjoying it. :D

I don’t know anyone among the top ten in the rankings. Is that serious? What music genre do they belong to?
