The Profile

Light Bearer were a British post-metal collective led by Alex CF (ex-Fall of Efrafa). Known for a rigorous DIY ethic and artwork by Alex, the project pursued the Æsahættr tetralogy, a literary concept drawing on Milton’s Paradise Lost, the Book of Genesis, and Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials. They released Lapsus and Silver Tongue, plus an EP and splits, before disbanding in 2015.

British post-metal group formed by Alex CF after Fall of Efrafa; concept centers on the Æsahættr tetralogy; lyrics and artwork by Alex; releases include Lapsus (2011), Silver Tongue (2013), the EP Beyond the Infinite: The Assembly of God, and splits (including Northless); active 2010–2015.

Three DeBaser reviews chart Light Bearer’s sweeping, literary post-metal—especially Lapsus and Silver Tongue. Reviewers highlight the Æsahættr tetralogy, Alex CF’s lyrics and artwork, and a blend of post-metal, post-rock, and screamo/drone textures. Themes draw from Milton, Genesis, and Pullman with a focus on Lucifer, authority, and human agency. Atmosphere, pacing, and emotional weight are praised throughout.
