Shitty ranking, it’s clear that you don’t understand a damn thing about music.

big bird, you are filled with endless sadness...

beautiful there... I had kept it out of my ranking because it's tied to very very very sad memories :( happy that you like it... :D

    Heresies.

Of this ranking, I know eight bands; I don't know who the Tool are and what kind of music they make...

  • Stefano90
    9 jun 10
They play metal-prog, I would say they're giving it a try... but they're not bad.

  • Stefano90
    9 jun 10
The greatest heresy is the Doors down there. Other heresies are all the groups that don’t make it into the ranking, but if they hadn’t existed... these wouldn't have been able to be in the ranking either.

  • Alexander77

Not bad, huh?! Are we being ironic here?!

  • the tools can get pretty tiring in the long run...

  • Alexander77
    9 jun 10
And who decided that?! It seems like just a simple (sacrosanct) opinion to me, but if you're tired of the tools, then you’re shooting yourself in the foot with 90% of the music in 4/4 verse chorus...

  • Well, I don't think it's appropriate to throw around these anathemas; it seems clear to me that this is my opinion. Anyway, I know that criticizing the tools on this site is like criticizing the Madonna in church, but they really tire me out!:D

  • Alexander77
    9 jun 10
No no, but I specified that it's a righteous opinion, but it remains an opinion... put this way, "The tools are tiring..." sounds a bit unfair... it was just to spark some cheerful debate!

  • Schizoid Man
    9 jun 10
The Tool aren’t even my cup of tea that I splash around in with my floaties because I can’t swim! However, I don’t feel like criticizing them because I really don’t know them... I abhor prog metal in any form, with the exception of the early Riverside :D for the rest, the great Algol has included big names in the aforementioned ranking, so he deserves the right respect! :D Best wishes, Mr. Algol!

To be completely honest, I also find the tools burdensome, even though they are admirable from a technical and creative perspective.

  • anyway, still better than a perfect circle which is even worse! :D

I got it, you’re gay! Now I’ll tell Algol to put the aqua in the rankings! :D

  • fedezan76
    9 jun 10
alex, are you sure it's not the other way around??? No, because "tool" in English is also used to refer to the penis... and if you like "tools" then... :DDDD

  • Alexander77
    9 jun 10
I own the entire collection of Jenna Jameson's masterpieces, and that gives me a guarantee of heterosexuality even if I were seen arm in arm with Bartle or Blechy! :D

  • Well, I also didn’t really understand the relationship between not liking tools and being gay, but whatever :D instead, Jamerson’s alibi is quite convincing... :D

  • fedezan76
    9 jun 10
In fact, you don't touch the Jameson, rather you really do touch it... let's say it's not up for discussion and let's cut off the bull's penis! :DDD

    I'm not gay!!!
And I ask stefano90 to take the ranking for what it is. A fun way to let you know my (very personal) musical preferences without the ambition of being a profound connoisseur. These are the things I like, that's all.
As for me, Tool are addictive; I wouldn't define them as just prog.
I recommend listening to all those who are accustomed to a bit harsher sounds.

I understand, Stefano... maybe I could have found a little spot for Metallica. Perhaps I'll take care of it, only now they’ve really worn me out. You see... I'm tired of them and there’s nothing strange about it. Every ear reacts in its own way ;D

I am here mainly to praise the comment of the great Schizoid, which I completely agree with. I don’t like Tool either. However, dear algol, tell me something about these High on Fire. Who are they/what do they do/why?

Of course, there's a lot of really important stuff missing, but we sure could use more users with these tastes :) I really like Tool too, although I've been scaling them down lately... applause for Kyuss and Isis being so high up.

  • algol

Thanks, Larrok. I reiterate that this ranking has no pretensions. Simply, some of the names you would include do not meet my favor, even considering them giants of rock history.

I know the new Tool album is in the works... Do you have any information about it?

Here, for example, would these really be the best artists of all time? Really? And you come here to rant about my ranking??????'' But please, before you spit on what others listen to, try to identify your massive limitations.

the best ever for me, and without pretensions. The erudite dinosaurs of your simply make me shit.

Tastes are tastes, dear Nick. I’ve just noticed that your musical evolution is stuck in 1970. Quite a sad thing, in my opinion.

Sad like the music you listen to... what do you know about what I listen to? I listen to a lot of music from the last few decades and it’s better than what you think is best, but I intentionally leave it out of the ranking of the best. Is it clearer now, kids?

You really like Italian music, I see 😂. Ps. If my statement is wrong (in the sense that you have nothing against Italian music, or rather non-Anglo-Saxon music, change the name of the chart, if you can).

    • algol
      29 apr 18
I'm afraid I didn't understand. Anyway, I have nothing against Italian music; I love some artists. Battiato, Conte, Gazzè ... even Carmen Consoli thrown in there. But less than those I've placed in my very personal list.
    • zaireeka
      29 apr 18
Alright, let's say that, according to the rankings, a Battiato is worth at least 39 times less than the Kyuss for you. I don't know the Kyuss (I've just heard of them), but that seems like a strong statement to me, though certainly respectable.

My "I like you a lot" was clearly meant ironically.

I didn't understand the talk about changing the name of the ranking. :-)
Anyway, let's say that for every forty pieces, I listen to one Italian one; that's the ratio.

Here ... I had forgotten a bit of Italian music. Ufomammut thrown in.
  • De...Marga...

First five positions are anthology-worthy!! I notice the brevity of the band names. What a surprise to see Pink Floyd so high; I didn't think you were a fan of their sounds.

Ahhah, true. I hadn't noticed that. Pink Floyd are like first love.

  • What the hell is Protomartyr?

So beautiful at 49, Tears for Fears, mental battles with one's self like "yeah come on, I'll put them in. But last. But yeah, come on, I'll put them in. Last, but I'll put them in. Come on, nobody says anything about the last ones. I hope. Oh yeah, screw it, I'll put them in! Last." 😂🤣

I Tears for Fears. A belch of eighties pride. The kind of “I was there, I was young, and not all the pop from that time was plastic crap.”
A bit like those historians who come to tell us that no, the Middle Ages were not merely a unique opportunity to grill witches and heretics, but the precursors of a season of progress for humanity.
      Prideeeeeeohhhh

Instead, take a look at my super crunchy and brand new stoner ranking.
This one is thoughtfully crafted even in terms of position.
A refined piece of work that I am incredibly proud of, practically the benchmark, the definitive word, the dogma that allows no rebuttals, the orthodoxy.
But above all, it's a testament to how wonderful it is to have nothing to do under the beach umbrella.
