Verdi: Don Carlo / Act 5 - "Ma lassù ci vedremo in un mondo migliore"

So: we need two explanations, right?
1. It’s not my favorite version, Abbado '77, but I can't find it in fragments... never mind. I have to say though that this one with Bergonzi (well, a great gentleman, but not much else), Tebaldi (absolutely magnificent), Ghiaurov (absolute confidence), and Dieskau as the Marquis of Posa seems definitely worth seeking out... As soon as I’m done with the first one from '77, I’ll give it a try.
2. It's not an aria (hahahaha) but a duet. It’s the equivalent of "si schiude il ciel" from Aida. The two (Carlo and Elisabetta) are without hope. They say goodbye to each other. And they tell each other they will be happy. In a better world.
3. Yes, now you know why in the coming days, whatever I do, I will do it singing "in a better world."
4. But how beautiful is Abbado’s version? I mean, really all of it, not just this non-aria... someone should write about it...
5. Yes, I have to say I'm thinking about writing about it. Seriously, and there's a reason. But let's see if it comes to fruition...

Neko Loves Rock 'N' Roll

Railroad to Tears

Tacoma... oh yes, the same one as the Sonics...
Year 1983 they formed, year 1988 debut with a beautiful album, only much later appreciated, until being recognized as a “cultural relic” by the Yankees.

Slightly less particular but fervent, alcoholic, party-like: Rock and roll... It doesn't let me put my favorites but all are fine.

Garage, PunkRock, PunkBlues, Rockabilly, Cowpunk, even something from that Grunge. A truly unique blend. Younger brothers by a few years of Cramps and Gun Love.

In the Greenslade, there wasn't just the genius Dave Greenslade as a prominent figure but also a certain Dave Lawson, singer and keyboardist of the band, who had interesting projects like Web and Samurai.

Kathleen Edwards - In State live on Tonight Show 2005

Is it just me or is nothing making sense?
Well, I’m a monomaniac, like Ahab, and I tend to fixate on just one thing, which is the guitar. With or without hair.
Here I should be horrified because the guitarist seems to be playing a "Diavoletto" while I’m a strict Fender fan, owning a Stratocaster, a Telecaster, and a Lead II (the love of my life!).
But this wide-necked & concave guitar is doing its damn job!
And she is stunning.
Ps. I stumbled upon this piece and ended up listening to all their records: it was worth it.
