The Wild Swans-The Iron Bed (Kid Jensen Session 3rd February, 1982)
Kid Jensen's sessions feature gems like these. A mix of Postcard sound à la Josef K blended with Echo & the Bunnymen from the Porcupine era and the pathos of the Associates' Sulk.

Paolo Conte - Brillantina Bengalese
The Count in 100 songs.

magnificent ambient noise dreams. Melodies, voices, hidden sleep beneath a blanket of sound fog that conceals, transforms shapes into dreams.

in their records, they shamelessly mix rhythms, languages, trash sounds, pulling out pieces that are the quintessence of pop

Lowlife - River Of Woe (Black Album demo)
When music isn't made at a drawing board but is born pure from the soul. Craig Lorentson, along with Ian Curtis and the classic names, opened and definitively closed the dark post-punk chapter. Lowlife was a lunar trip with dream pop guitars (a genre I love with their guitars, the Chameleons and the more celestial Sad Lovers & Giants... the Cocteau bore me) and a voice that, despite being rich in melancholy, manages to caress you like little else. Unfortunately, Craig, like Ian, left us in 2010 after battling alcoholism.

The Wild Swans-The Revolutionary Spirit
Friends of Echo and the Bunnymen and fellow citizens of Liverpool. Incandescent is a collection of the very first tracks, true shards of post-punk fused with ethereal guitars... as if the Chameleons were making indie pop.

Paolo Conte - Una di queste notti
The Count in 100 songs.
31. One of these nights.

#versigiusti (part 4 of 4) (Giuseppe Giusti. Published and unpublished verses. Florence, Felice Le Monnier, 1852.) ochhio that tomorrow I leave with surprise interrogations. MITTELEUROCK -Patrizia 'ZZANI

And when he fell silent, he left me pondering
    Of thoughts stronger and sweeter.
These ones, I said to myself, Fearful king
Of the Italian movements and the Slavs,
Tears from their roofs, and here without rest
    Drives slaves to keep us slaves;
Drives them from Croatia and Bohemia,
Like herds to winter in the Maremme.

To hard life, to hard discipline,
    Mute, derided, they stand alone,
Blind tools of a watchful robbery
That does not touch them and perhaps they do not know:
And this hatred that never draws near
The Lombard people to the Alemannic,
Is useful to those who reign by dividing, and fear
    Opposing peoples bound together.

Poor people! far from their own,
In a country here that wishes them ill,
Who knows that deep in their soul might later
Not send the principal to that place!
A game they have in their pockets like we do. —
Here, if I do not flee, I embrace a Corporal,
    With his brave hazel staff,
Hard and planted there like a stake.
