Hi Honey, I wrote SCOPATA and "fake romanticism" referring to what I seemed to perceive in the reality of the relationship between the two young lovers mentioned above. Organizing everything in that way (which is exactly what I did at Jimmy's age, and we've talked about it privately), if consciously perceived as "loving care," actually hides other aspects, such as the D'Annunzian self-satisfaction of being totally in control of the situation and the "prey," which will obviously fall right into the "trap." That said, I don't want to imply that creating a little atmosphere ruins anything; however, at that age, it's often more about showing off to oneself (and you realize after years that it was so!). It's as if instead of organizing all of this for her, Jimmy did it for himself. This rightly fits into a natural process of growth, in forming a greater awareness of oneself and one's possibilities! In general terms, I wouldn't speak of either fucking or making love, but of EROS.
