Checking the review database, I noticed the absence of this record, which, despite not being a full-length, includes audio CD and DVD for a comprehensive and certainly interesting total playing time, as it contains songs and covers entirely recorded live during Avril's various tours. Additionally, there is the entire Buffalo concert dated 2003 ending with videos, backstage, and photos. So, I would say that this is anything but a purely commercial operation.
Let's start with the audio CD which begins with 'Fuel', a Metallica cover with excellent sound quality, slightly lightened compared to the original, and with an Avril Lavigne in dazzling form; followed by 'Basketcase' a Green Day cover, more suited to the singer's notes; followed by 'Unwanted' and 'Sk8er boy' from Avril's debut, up to the very popular 'Knocking on heaven's door' (here recorded for humanitarian purposes) ending with 'Why', an unreleased track except in particular editions.
Let's move on to the 'main plate', which is the DVD, anything but marginal on an artistic level: in fact, we have good direction, good video quality; while the audio quality, as I have already mentioned about the CD, is truly exceptional: of course, the mixing might not have been very challenging as pop scores are orderly in themselves, but still, the audio challenges studio quality (also for this reason Avril or the producers have deemed it appropriate, in various remasterings, to add several live tracks).
In the live performance, Avril delights us with her excellent range, her sweetness, the excellent low notes and the high notes with a brilliant timbre (not the country), also playing the guitar and encouraging the crowd, with which she directly interacts on several occasions (unfortunately I wasn't there and missed the opportunity for a nice duet!!). I'm not going to mention the songs because they are Avril's various hits and the same covers as the audio CD, except for 'I don't give' which I don't know. Even the 'outtakes' are interesting, despite not having any connection to the music: more like funny sketches of Avril with the band.
Going back to the introduction with the recommendation of this CD + DVD to anyone who loves this singer, as Avril live performs as much as if not more than in the studio.
