Thank you :) I was expecting an acid comment like 'U2 in front of Genesis??? Shame on you! People like you should commit suicide listening to Ligabue's greatest hits etc etc'

U2 in front of Genesis? Shame on you! Someone like you should commit suicide while listening to Ligabue's greatest hits! XD ;) Jokes aside, the ranking is nice; of course, I would always want to see Genesis at the top, but obviously, that's not always possible. It’s especially nice to see Clash, Ramones, and Genesis in the same ranking—when it comes to having varied tastes and not caring about labels, well done!

Good job hjhhjij, the rankings of some people are all the same "Best rock artist, best artist, best band, best Progressive artist, best Progressive band," it seems like they are all the same ranking.

It's true, at least this one is original. I'm making thousands of rankings because with school keeping me busy, I never have a damn thing to do all morning.

what luck you have hjhhjij... no way they were already taking me in early December! :(

Regarding the ranking, I don’t know... there’s X but Y is missing! Then, Y below Z is just unacceptable!

Agreed with Stone on Z, it needs to stay higher!
Stone, they occupied me on November 25, not early December :D

beautiful, even though it lacks the messy, dirty garage punk. listen to the messy, dirty garage punk, brother (or sister).

If Fluxus is worth as dirty garage punk, the other day a friend lent me 'Pura lana vergine'... what do you think? can they coexist? (brother anyway)

Brother, with the Fluxus (and especially with the record you mention), you're breaking down an open door with me (is that how you say it?)... but they don't count as filthy garage punk... take a look at my downgraded "best war artist." Then, without any presumption, if you feel like it, check out the review I wrote on the Fluxus... a hug, Roman brother (if I understand correctly).

Particular, beautiful. Of course, personally I would have arranged some names differently and a few others (Daft Punk, Interpol, AC-DC, just to name a few) I wouldn't have included at all, but it's a completely honest ranking. If nothing else, for the modesty. Well done.

@cappio AC/DC introduced me to hard rock, they have to be there; as for Daft Punk, even though it’s not my genre, I was really impressed by Discovery; I have no excuses when it comes to Interpol, I like them a lot even though I've avoided listening to their latest album, so I don't ruin the idea I have of them (I've read terrible reviews)...

Instead of Clash, Ramones, Daft Punk, AC/DC, I would have chosen King Crimson, VDGG, Faust, and Can (I'm talking about personal tastes, of course), but it's still a very interesting ranking.

Progressive is a genre that I struggle to appreciate, even though my house is full of records by Area, Banco, Genesis, Perigeo, PFM... all stuff from my father! (maybe unconsciously it’s a rebellion against him, like an Oedipus complex!)

  • ProgRock
    14 dec 10
Genesis, Banco, PFM, the discography of Pink Floyd is my father's collection with which I started listening to music. I was the one who then filled the house even more with Prog records; this genre has been my entry point into music, and it's the reason behind my nickname :), in recent years I've been listening more to bands from the '80s and '90s.

Genesis, Banco, PFM, and Pink Floyd... if by any chance your father listened to a lot of folk rock, like Neil Young, CSNY, America, etc., it means I had a brother and I didn't know it :D

  • ProgRock
    14 dec 10
Not too much Folk Rock, CSNY, America doesn’t have their own albums, but Neil Young as a solo artist is one of the singer-songwriters I appreciate the most ("Harvest" especially) :D

Oh crap, we took a risk. He taught me the first guitar chords with 'Heart of Gold'... fortunately, he has several albums by America, so I'm not the same person!

But am I the only asshole in here who doesn't have a dad who listens to prog??

You've saved yourself... if at 14 you listen to 5, and I mean 5, albums by Perigeo in no time, because they were the ones placed highest on the 'quality band' shelf and so you thought it was worth it, you will be marked for life...

No Felo, I'm here too: my dad loves Pausini X(. But deep down he kind of likes prog.

Oh my God, I'm sorry berlinboy, what a blow :D. I have some hope with my parents: I played Peter Gabriel III for my mom and she really liked it a lot (I can say she practically considers it a masterpiece) :). She also really liked the first one and quite a bit the fourth. My dad appreciated A Catch at the Tables by Ant Phillips, of course, nothing compared to Pausini, but... :D

Particular ranking! I'm not really in agreement with the positions but it doesn't matter. Gaber at 15th is great! I’m listening to him right now!
