Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

Musical Group

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young is a rock supergroup formed by David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young, known for close vocal harmonies, folk-rock and several landmark late‑1960s/early‑1970s recordings.

Déjà Vu (1970) is widely regarded as a classic; the single "Ohio" was written by Neil Young in reaction to the Kent State shootings (May 1970) and recorded/released quickly. Four Way Street is a notable live album from the tour that followed Déjà Vu. American Dream (1988) and Looking Forward (1999) are later reunion studio albums. The group performed at Woodstock and have been intermittently active since their formation.

DeBaser reviews celebrate CSNY's vocal harmonies, political urgency and landmark 1970s records. Déjà Vu is repeatedly praised as a classic; "Ohio" is highlighted as a powerful anti-war single. Later reunions and albums receive mixed reactions.
