Nicholas Rodney "Nick" Drake (19 June 1948 – 25 November 1974) was an English singer-songwriter noted for three studio albums: Five Leaves Left (1969), Bryter Layter (1971) and Pink Moon (1972).

Recorded three studio albums between 1969 and 1972. Largely unrecognized in his lifetime; his work gained significant posthumous recognition and influence. Publicly documented struggles with depression; death in 1974 associated with an overdose of antidepressant medication.

Nick Drake's reviews emphasize sparse, intimate voice-and-guitar performances and literary, melancholic songwriting. Pink Moon is frequently singled out for its minimalism and emotional intensity. His three studio albums recorded 1969–1972 are central to his reputation. Drake received little recognition in life and much acclaim posthumously.

For:Listeners of acoustic folk, intimate singer-songwriters, and readers who appreciate melancholic, literary songwriting.
