??? You mentioned ALL the gentlemen's groups (aside from the slip-up on U2 and DuraniDurani, but you can't have it all), and you place Perry "Provolino" Farrell's Jane's Addiction in 2nd?

Well, who can deny that Jane's are one of the cornerstones of rock? They deserve that place! I would have pushed a bit more Gun Club and Thin White Rope, perhaps at the expense of, say, the Feelies?

'A vortex, but have you ever listened to the eponymous debut album by Duran? Take it easy with the prejudices, that’s new wave for shorebirds. I’m dodging Bonovoxe today like a Bonaiuti, but "Boy," "War," The Unforgettable Fire, and Joshua are not up for discussion. The Feelies are enormous. P.S. - Clash and Ramones delivered their best in the '70s.

I confirm the poor judgment on Provolino Farrell and also on the U2 (even though I have repeatedly listened to Boy and October, but only those, I swear). Huge Feelies, true. I did listen to the 1st Duranico for sure; back then, the single of Planet Earth was impossible to avoid. But in the 1st and 2nd albums of Spandau Ballet, there are two songs (1+1) that deserve a small podium just for them.

You put on Metallica and not Ganz? You put on Simple Minds and not B.S. and the E Street Band (The River is from 1980)? You put on Duran Duran and not Dire Straits? And Mellencamp's band? And Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers? Didn't AC/DC do anything in the '80s? Van Halen? Prince and the Revolution? The Clash (London Calling year 1980)????????
