Heaven 17 - (We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thang

"Have you heard the news about this fascist garbage?
Evil men with racist opinions are spreading all over the world.
Don't just sit on your ass... Brothers, sisters, we don't need this fascist garbage.
Racism, sexism, anything else...
Brothers, sisters, we don't need this fascist garbage..."

"175"

Madooooooo, here we go!!!

There’s a compilation, from the beginning of the millennium more or less if I remember correctly, that gathers the only album and the series of 45s.

#garagedintorni (84/2)

And sometimes a triple backflip is mandatory… not certainly for those Noble tens of thousands of garage-beat bands with one or two splendid 45s and that’s it, collected in the Noble Pebbles, Nuggers, Back from the Grave, and dozens/hundreds of Various… but someone more specific with maybe an album or several singles collected… not so lucky at the time… from Brisbane with the natural influence of Bitols, Animals, Manfredi Mann, Kinks, and all the early arrivals of the British Invasion… back then, six months felt like five years. Talk to you later… these sound like “everything”…

BLACK MOUNTAIN "SET US FREE" And then it happens that during your lunch break, you find yourself alone, in the middle of the lake, with your canoe and an unrealistically flat mirror-like surface of water, and from your phone, as if by magic - to seal the magic moment - one of those songs that brings you pure joy starts playing... And there, in the beta solitude of your little boat, you enjoy it and contemplate the sky, as if there were no tomorrow.

The Pleazers - Bald Headed Woman (1965)

The Pleazers - Poor Girl (Where Did You Sleep Last Night)

During a notable period of "welcome back losers" - I admit I was no longer into it - I listened to, (re)discovered garage bands made of soul and blood, with, as per usual, the most diverse influences from beat to punk, from psychedelia to R&B - from power pop to folk, from rockabilly to mod, even soul and even hard rock. In short, the essence of rock and roll from true beasts to the wild scream of "fuck your virtuosic and lightning-fast scales and your fucking four-octave vocal range." Since 1990 onwards, with some revivals of old relics, savansadir.

And sometimes a triple backflip is mandatory… not certainly for those Noble thousands of garage-beat bands with one or two splendid 45s and out, collected in the Noble Pebbles, Nuggers, Back from the Grave, and dozens/hundreds of Various... but rather someone more specific with perhaps an album or various singles collected... not so lucky at the time... from Brisbane with the natural influence of Bitols, Animals, Manfredi Mann, Kinks, and all the early arrivals of the British Invasion... it’s known that six months back then felt like five years. Talk to you later… these guys play “everything”…

Ride Between the Cars

#forwhatitsworth2023

16 songs for just under half an hour. 14 are reworked adaptations by Juniper and dad Michael, along with many friends who also lent a hand in this second album, tailored perfectly for Juniper. Everything is really nice, but the signature "Ride Between the Cars" in 1'46" leaves me no escape.
