Police People

I was reminded – as if I really get to decide what the hell crosses my mind – of the great Ferruccio Montanari, sublime graphic designer and architect from Udine, whom I met when I was working at "Arti Grafiche Furlane."

He introduced himself to me with a piece of tracing paper, some masking tape, and text in huge letters featuring the "A" of Architecture, and he said: "See, just enlarge the 'A' and place the tracing paper over it, secured randomly with the tape, so that it’s clear we’re talking about craftsmanship. Then throw it all in the repro camera and you're done."

Did you understand anything? No? Can you imagine me back then, shitting my pants just seeing God talking to me!

The result was a stunning poster, made of genius, craft, and respect for those who do the “dirty work” but need to understand it, otherwise the result wouldn’t have the same flavor (synesthesia).

And that’s the reason behind the cover of this Pat album, coincidentally, pure Free Jazz.

Dune - Parte Due | Trailer Ufficiale 3

Guys: I’m itching! Actually, Fremen!
February 28 is approaching.
And this time I’m going to the cinema.
Entering half an hour after the scheduled time, of course: this time I won’t let them shove their damn advertising down my throat!

I've already said everything I wanted about the book (the first and only one I've read from the Saga), and I’m pleased that those who don’t share my opinion have expressed their disagreement in a calm and respectful manner. Unlike the current trend, where any criticism of one's beliefs is taken as a personal insult, and unspeakable insults are hurled at those who criticize it.
So, BRÁO DEB!

For this reason, I feel allowed to confirm my aversion to Lynch’s film (there’s a LOT worse, for heaven’s sake!) by citing an excerpt from the excellent article in today’s CdS that I have right before my eyes, in front of a good Merlot.
"... he was able to continue to delve" Villeneuve "into the pages of Herbert that David Lynch got stuck on in 1984, after Alejandro Jodorowsky, despite the magnificent storyboard drawn by Moebius, was unable to find the right fit."

I repeat: maximum respect for those who love that film!
But I saw much of the aforementioned storyboard because it was published by that GREAT magazine of Illustrated Narrative that was "Comic Art". And I assure you that the idea of the "Lord of the Ring" (masterfully etched by Escher - the ants, remember?) was very far from what was seen in the film.
Ugh!

Budapest…

These Nobility are truly special.
They move from the Garage to the chic annex.
Black music, Freakbeat, Jazz, Fusion, Psychedelia, Beat…

And if I like Jazz-Fusion as well… we’re on the same page.

It’s a blast, in short…

Frank Zappa - You Are What You Is
As Frank Zappa rightly points out, the conformist is defined not by their personality, but by what is popular. "You are what you is," indeed.

Yesterday was the last day of the festival (yes, those pagans stole Ash Wednesday), our Burra rasta parade, meeting dos boizinhos, roda de capoeira, and to wrap it up, Sigura Coisa, the marijuana march.
It’s way more exhausting to face carnival with seriousness than to go to work.
