For fans of the symphonic pop genre, in my opinion, it's still a great album. I remember having it too, but no longer...

Deep Purple_ Mistreated (Vivo California Jam Festival '74) HD
In place of Gillan and Glover, two exuberant young men arrive: Glenn Hughes, already bassist-vocalist of Trapeze, and Dave Coverdale, a notable unknown. The idea was for Hughes to be both singer and bassist, but management insisted that to avoid breaking the toy, they had to stick to five members. After many listens, they were struck by the tape of this rough kid - Burn was released, a stunning album, in my opinion the best alongside Machine Head, featuring a funkier rock sound. I choose Mistreated, live version from Jammin Festival, a unique, haunting, immense blues piece, the only song on the album sung solely by Coverdale. The track had been written two years earlier by Blackmore, who believed it couldn't be properly showcased by Gillan's voice, and for once our pain-in-the-ass was right—what was needed was a rawer, more bluesy vocal.

At first listen, it seems valid In Aeternam Vale - Clobenzorex [DM3D013]
It’s a triple LP, you can sample it here: Pink Flamingos | DEMENT3D
And if you like it, you can find it here: In Aeternam Vale / Pink Flamingos [2016]

I would like to make my debut in the world of reviews, but, well, I can't sleep at night. For example, I don't know what style to use: stream of consciousness, stream of unconsciousness, just a stream? And how do I start? "This album rocks" or "I'm going to rock this album?" And then what, what the hell do I review? A little piece of psyco folk prog or do I dive into viking metal? In doubt, I pass.

But wasn't this song by Jackson Browne?

It's very likely that if it weren't for the Beatles, other bands in the 65-70 era would have had more prominence, like these Spirit, truly splendid even today.
