In a whirlwind of dust others saw drought, to me it reminded of Jenny's skirt at a dance many years ago...

I could feel my land vibrating with sounds; it was my heart. So why continue to cultivate it, how could I think it could be better?
Thank you, SG! Your avatar, by the way, is epic.....

Not to money, not to love nor to heaven... Sandro&Giacobbe I seemed to... they sleep, they sleep on the hill... I greet you with the only Italian singer-songwriter whose lyrics I still remember by heart, the other is -of course- Tenco. I almost forgot "Maremma maiala" but that's another story. With nostalgia, Serenella

Hi Serenella. Good luck continuing on these pages. I suggest you put up a provocative pose photo if you aim for the big numbers. Best regards.

You misunderstood, and anyway, a hundred or a thousand or ten thousand don’t mean anything, especially on the web. I’m here because you are special, and when I was choosing music on the radio, I felt the need to read and listen to those who knew more than I did, and I memorized many of your reviews. So, no provocative poses to attract anyone because it’s you who entered my orbit of interest, not the other way around. Also, I don’t love selfies!

@heartshapedbox: if you really do the megafestini, we can come to an agreement, I’m not joking. I should check with my friends from San Pancrazio, but I don’t think there would be any problems. You explain to Sandro that he’s the sausage?
    • SandroGiacobbe
      7 sep 16
Idra, we also want you at those parties, it's not like you're leaving the house and heading out.

But what about Battiato in the sixties, what do you say? Perhaps it’s a page of history never reviewed here on Debaser.

      14 jul 16
Fetus - Franco Battiato this is my favorite from the first phase and fortunately it exists. I must tell you that I like Battiato but I place him quite below many other singer-songwriters. Let's say he has a slightly different approach to songwriting than the one I prefer.
    • sotomayor
      15 jul 16
Wait. I'm talking about the pre-experimental Battiato. The more 'forgotten' one that came before Fetus and the series of experimental productions of those years (albums I'm very familiar with and which I became infatuated with during my youth, as I mentioned in a review of @[noveccentrico]).

      Songs like this one anyway:

Which I think are beautiful anyway. This one in particular. Five in the morning, Piazzetta Olivella with people sitting outside the basements making noise and keeping me awake, the smell of croissants coming from the lab downstairs, the mosquitoes driving me crazy. I’d say it’s perfect. Actually, I'm going to smoke a cigarette now. Before going for a run. A very healthy choice. :)

      15 jul 16
Basically, you are talking about the pre-Fetus Battiato, in a nutshell, the singles, which are completely unknown to me, but I will be happy to discover.
    • noveccentrico
      15 jul 16
Between the protest era and the later easy-going phase (I have a lot of love for Francuzzo, but he really tried everything to climb the charts and soothe his ego like a Kobe Bifu), there was the transition to Bla bla. But before Fetus, there's a track that serves as a sort of middle ground which I'm very attached to: "Paranoia."
    • noveccentrico
      15 jul 16
it was the b-side of "La convenzione" (but Paranoia wins, like many b-sides).
    • sotomayor
      15 jul 16
Hehe, I wanted to involve Sandro because he is a deep connoisseur of that period, and I was curious to know what he thought. I actually like those tracks from the pre-experimental period. Even 'Paranoia'. They are nice little songs, really. We're obviously talking about Italian pop music, no particular research work, but they are definitely pleasant.

You have spoken a great truth about the b-sides. :)
