The Doors - Indian Summer
"Jim Morrison & the Doors on the road" (49)
The image of a "Indiana Summer" continuing with its heat well into a late autumn blends with the few lines of love that Jim addresses to Pamela. It was written in the early days but wasn’t included in the first album (partly because it resembles "The End" and partly because more than a song, it's just a few lines accompanied by music which frankly didn't fit into the stellar debut). Even in these lesser-known instances, the band leaves nothing to chance, and Morrison's words are accompanied by a repetitive sound, reminiscent of an Indian raga. Robby plucks the guitar until it resembles a sitar, and John perfectly brings out a sound from his drums similar to tabla.

@[BARRACUDA BLUE] you were right: Bardens' solo debut is a good work. It may not have sparked my interest, but it's nice. Then the highlight is at the end, and I had no idea. "The Original One" Peter Bardens - Homage to the God of Light I need to listen to the next one, the self-titled one.

The Trip - Caronte I This is Joe Vescovi! (a keyboardist not mentioned too often, thus underestimating one of the coolest Hammond players both technically and aesthetically, unfortunately passed away a few years ago)
