    Salvo!
    Hello!
But where have you disappeared to?
    But have you vanished?

The quotes taken from the "minor" pieces of Maestro Battiato... these are matters of culture.

Well... on the other hand... I have too much culture, and I want to show it off a bit.

Anyway, seriously speaking, I really happened to remember things (removed) through my own and others' comments.

This is interesting... a bit like when you write the shopping list for the next day and leave it hanging on the fridge... or like photographs that evoke memories of distant childhood.

Did you see Lao that with the Mammoth we are second in the Eurocontest? Today, open a nice bottle to celebrate, make sure to do it!

A bombastic result at the televote that will be hard to match in future editions; it couldn’t have gone any better, considering the various shenanigans and vote exchanges between the Netherlands and Scandinavian countries. This time we even convinced San Marino and the Germans. So, well done Mammut.
Spain has also improved from last year's fourth-to-last place: it's now fifth-to-last.
Germany is third-to-last, and I believe I predicted that too.
European Piece of Shit of the Year goes to Great Britain, but then again, if you want to leave Europe...

Great Britain is finally deploying a pastry chef, among other things. It seems to me an important detail not to overlook.

But who pays you! Wasting time on low-level events and terrible music, if it were up to me, I would send them all to dig potatoes in Latina, from the "singers" to the last of the delivery guys from the record labels... Just think a bit about who holds the cultural market in their hands... 🙄

If you consider Eurovision a "musical event," you are off track.

And what do you call him? Ignazio?
    • Lao Tze
      19 may 19
      So let me tell you.
Already as a format, it has little to do with a festival like Sanremo, and you know that a good 80% of the discussions around Sanremo aren't about the songs.
Eurovision is simply a (trash) show where everyone occupies their space in their own way, and the choreography is MUCH more important than the music.
But it's not that music is dying (and it's not) because crap songs make it to Eurovision, rather one should take certain contexts for what they are without getting scandalized.
I find many of the songs I hear disgusting; this year, a bit less than usual, but if I tell you that a lot of foreign music I know I discovered through the Eurofestival (not because I heard it at the Eurofestival, but because the Eurofestival helped me get there and the internet did the rest), I'm not talking nonsense.
Everyone is free not to watch, and I wouldn’t blame them for it, but in the meantime, I watch and, from many points of view, I always find something there.

At its core, you’re not wrong because it’s the same mechanism I use, perhaps in different contexts but it’s the same. Then it comes down to tastes, and here you can use rivers, oceans of words and still not get to the bottom of it. But as I've already said, I wholeheartedly agree with your analysis "philosophically"… BUT THE EUROPEAN FESTIVAL IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS, quote Fantozzi.

Yes, you got it right... but I think that being a "cagata pazzesca" is part of its nature as an international kitsch show (in my opinion suited for the northern countries - the patron is Norwegian - and the eastern ones, while others like France and Spain struggle to get into this spirit). I always remember the pompous sets of the eurofestival, that clumsy gigantism and those immense stages reminiscent of the USSR that you wouldn't see today except on Moldovan television or nearby.
Then they say it's the most watched show in the world; indeed, I've read comments from people watching it from South America...
(all of this is crazy to me, but evidently…)
    • sergio60
      20 may 19
May it be the most viewed in the world... It reminds me a lot of "Oste com è il vino?... Tutta malvasia!" For me, they play their own tune and sing their own song; they might have had a lot of users, but the most viewed... Come on... Then I wonder and ask you... But how do they decide who sees and who doesn't... Phone? Pigeons? Raise of hands? Roll call? Or just free-for-all chatting? 🙄😁

they will have their numbers but, in short, if you go to check those on YouTube, you realize that there isn’t a video under a million and a half clicks in just over 36 hours. I mean, those are popstar numbers. Also, it doesn’t take much to do better than other festivals: Sanremo is broadcast worldwide but is only watched in a few countries, Viña del Mar is practically unseen outside of Central-South America. The Eurovision involves many more people.

This says a lot about what record labels have done in the past, who, in the name of money, instead of proposing what a band or an artist would want, clip their wings in order to maximize profit with minimal risk... One million posts in 36 hours!!! That is, a million ignorant people who believe in Santa Claus offering them the usual mix of bullshit passed off as "modern" songs,...

Sorry, Lao, my ignorance, but I took your phrase as: "Jesus, no! Kiwami Otome is the gold name in our alphabet..." And on impulse, I wrote, as if wanting to ask for clarification on your statement... Alzheimer's continues its relentless advance.
