THE MOD SCENE so they were having fun even before I was born? And did they move their little paws? Bless you, Youth.

This morning at 7:45 in the car. I’m taking little Lucia, 20 months old, to her grandparents. She’s in the back with a pacifier in her mouth and her pajamas on. I ask her: shall we listen to some music? Yes! she replies. Or fairy tales? No! she replies firmly. I rummage through the glove compartment and pull out ACDC. I show it to Lucia and say: shall we listen to this? And she: yes! joyfully. After two minutes, I glance in the rearview mirror and catch her tapping her little index finger in time, gazing out the window carefree. AC/DC - Hells Bells

"I want to live like this, with the sun in my face and happily I listen... I listen for myself!" Or rather, I kind of do whatever the fuck I want (and, most importantly, what I like) (25)

We arrive in the '80s and the police already have the right album for the decade that will definitively establish them worldwide. A fresh and fun record that will be introduced early with a European tour that will also touch Italy (along with them, the Cramps). Eleven new tracks, including two instrumentals, Copeland is at the top of his game, Summers delivers his first song, and Sting, as always, composes the rest.
The lighthearted and carefree lyrics seem to anticipate the times, and the technique is certainly there.
De Do Do Do De Da Da Da, that’s all I have to say to you...
The Police - De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da

NEW ORDER - CEREMONY - 12" Single (1981) HiDef :: SOTW #1 I've been listening to the 7" version practically forever, but lately I've been paying attention to this one as well. Thoughts on the two?

Minny Pops - Dolphin Spurt (1981) Blessed John Peel, Martin Hannett, the Factory, and bands like these.

Björk - Atom Dance I take back everything I said about vulnicura.

The Cure - The Figurehead (Peel Session) Everything that "A Forest" manages to convey to me is enough to place it alongside the beloved listens that have continued for some time. "Pornography" is the album where the atmosphere becomes the most "kool." The Cure need to push, and it will be the reverberated voice akin to psych, but the "neniuccie" of "Faith" remain merely charming to me (albeit with horrific visions). In the post-"this album" period, they don't quite resonate with me anymore, same goes for the "Depeche post Stripped" (a song that holds the same value for me as "A Forest").

The Doors 04 Backdoor Man Absolutely Live
"Jim Morrison & The Doors on the road" (67)
Few covers, but good ones as the saying goes. On the first album, there’s this blues by Dixon. The band transforms it into a track that, especially live, unleashes devastating brutality. Those who don’t remember it well should listen to these two minutes... the initial pace and Morrison’s "voice" are something unique.

'We, the kids of today' (50) ENCA - SOUL KILLA (Official Video HD)
The big doll with many arrows in her quiver.

Albums and singles soar to the top in England, France, Australia, and the Netherlands. Sting is increasingly a leader, also participating in some films including "Radio On," "The Great Rock n' Roll Swindle," and "Quadrophenia," but this is above all the album of a highly inspired Andy Summers. In the end, there's room for Stewart and his drumming; the song is by Sting but seems tailor-made for him.
