#settimanaincom THE POLICE

We arrive in the '80s and the police already have the right album for the decade that will definitively establish them worldwide. A fresh and fun record that will be introduced early with a European tour that will also touch Italy (along with them, the Cramps). Eleven new tracks, including two instrumentals, Copeland is at the top of his game, Summers delivers his first song, and Sting, as always, composes the rest.
The lighthearted and carefree lyrics seem to anticipate the times, and the technique is certainly there.

Try listening at full volume to those eight initial snare drum beats in "Driven To Tears," and you’ll understand why even today, when people talk about The Police’s sound, it is done by appreciating that magical sense of novelty. claudio carpentieri
