Laza Ristovski - Pulsing Star (Yugoslavia, 1983)

An Alan Parsons of the Balkan Peninsula, Ristovski began his career playing for two historic bands of the former Yugoslavia, such as Smak and Bijelo Dugme, before going solo and embarking on a brilliant career within his country's borders and beyond, collaborating with artists like Alvin Lee (Ten Years After), Richard James Palmer (Supertramp), Falco, and Chris de Burgh. Often compared to Vangelis, he was a virtuoso of electronic keyboards, composing melodies that ranged from progressive ambient to synth rock, passing through electronic blues and the Berlin school. He also composed countless works for TV, cinema, and theater. His career ended too early and abruptly, cut short at just 51 years old due to an illness.
