Dire Straits: Brothers in arms
CD Audio I have it ★★★★★
The last great album by Knopfler & Company
Dire Straits: Making Movies
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
That romantic, warm one, with the red cover… A work of rare class and sophistication.
Dire Straits: Love Over Gold
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Fortune favors the bold!
Enrico Ruggeri: La giostra della memoria
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
The best of the best of the New Italian Wave… and a few radio-Italianized songs.
Eugenio Finardi: Diesel
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
The most kickass and "angry" fusion work that Italy's singer-songwriter scene could wish for.
Eugenio Finardi: Dal Blu
CD Audio I have it ★★★
And to end sweetly...
(But do you really like Finardi's "Ammisss iu dunait"?)
One should not allow this collection to be lowered to the rank of "Greatest Hits."
One of the best box sets created to celebrate the Him of Italian singer-songwriter poetry.
Francesco Guccini: Live@ RTSI
CD Audio I have it ★★★
Effective concert, straightforward, simple and bare sounds, yet clean and efficient in enhancing Guccini's lyrical work. 3 for the character that I don't particularly like and for some interruptions in the midst of a masterpiece like "Bologna".

After a concert I attended in Turin, I stopped following him. Arrogant, pretentious, anachronistic, and snobbish...

What he writes for me does not reflect what he says. A communist yes in words (and what words…) but I strongly doubt he is still what he proclaimed to be in the Seventies: I saw him live twice recently and honestly, in both cases, he seemed a bit "trido" (allow me an Emilian term): continuous misplaced jabs at Celentano and the Sanremo Festival, "Che do bali" when the applause drags on, and speeches to introduce the songs that have little to do with what he claimed to be at the beginning. If we are to choose a singer-songwriter focused on poetry while also looking at the social and political sphere, De Gregori is much better, quieter but also more focused on music; overall, his live performances are more enjoyable than an old, drunken reggiano like Guccini has become in recent years. Then I don't know what it was like back in the days of this album.
Gino Paoli: Milestones
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
An album brimming with exciting arrangements and simple lyrics, about love, but written with absolute passion and attention to every little word. The musicians playing on it are something alien.

2014: amidst many Adriatic Riviera-style seas in August, this is a small patch of water from the Tyrrhenian.
Le Orme: Uomo Di Pezza
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
Progressive, in the sense that it progresses, it did so then and it still does...
Lucio Battisti: Anima Latina
CD Audio I have it ★★★★
An extremely valuable album, without which one cannot claim to know Italian psychedelia and progressive music.

As a guitarist, I undoubtedly prefer Gilmour, but the psychology, creativity, and experimentation of Syd Barrett give this work a unique quality that no other album, be it psychedelic prog or otherwise, possesses.

Honestly, this album sounds like anything but "prog" ahah

@[adrmb] But in fact it’s anything but prog, it’s just that I had to try to include the "genre" of the PF.

Hmm, in this particular case I would stick to simple "psychedelic rock," but well, labels are just a matter of time, I’m not one to bang my head over these issues.

Excluding the questionable (but overly targeted, come on) "Obladi Oblada"... I have to say, I missed the CD, and I really missed it.

Now that I have it, I know how to use it, or rather, overuse it.

I've never had a particular dislike for Obladi Oblada: taken for what it is, a silly little rhyme, it's quite pleasant to listen to. As I've written before, I'm among those who consider the White Album to be the best work of the four beetles from Albion.
