This spring, I had read about half of Anthony Kiedis's biography "Scar Tissue" from 2006, an honest and passionate autobiography (as the Amazon critic describes it), but then I put it down for various reasons and I still haven't felt like picking it up again...

#chiaroscuro Today I stumbled upon this photo from the '70s where you can see the legendary RHCP singer with his dad, whom he talks about in both good and bad ways, and where he looks more like a troublemaker than his son, and nothing, ça va sans dire ça va.

Mauro Sabbione - Matia Bazar - Il video sono io - Tango - a.d. 1983.
At that time, I was twenty-five and trying not to miss the legendary show by Massarini "Mister Fantasy" (we could really use more beautiful things like that, but times have changed, and for the worse, I would say in this respect). However, I don't remember this nice video at all; it was probably aired between January and May of that distant '83, a period when I was in the spectacular India and gnente...

The Thanes - Touch

the THANES live at Tiki bar Athens 11-3-2011-buzz buzz (yeh yeh).mp4

In a remarkable period of “welcome back, losers” - I admit I had lost interest - I listened to, (re)discovered garage bands full of soul and blood, with, as per the rule, the most diverse influences from beat to punk, from psychedelia to R&B - from power pop to folk, from rockabilly to mod, even soul and even hard rock. In short, the essence of rock and roll from true beasts to the wild scream of “fuck your virtuosic and super-fast scales and your fucking four octaves of vocal range.” Since 1990 onward, with some revivals of old fossils, savansadir.

Wowwwww but they are still around in some little square or pub of the disturbed, and I think they just released an album. Amazing!

And how nice it is to listen to them again, what a great band from Edinburgh… today with them.

Bruno Lauzi - O frigideiro

But when are you going to buy the fridge, what are you waiting for this winter, if you need it in the summer? You could chill some beer for your friends when they come to visit you, all worn out and sweaty. And then what about the stuff you have set aside, the butter, the eggs, and the “lumè” beans? If it goes bad and you have to throw it away, when you get back from the countryside, just let me know,
but what is it that you tell your wife?
But when are you going to buy the fridge, it makes ice for granitas, to quench your thirst. Why do you insist on keeping the bottles with mint and Vichy water cool in the sink?
There are all sorts of prices, new and old, big, small, and tiny. They even sell them after the fair at the stalls in S. Agata. But when are you going to buy the fridge, I’d rather buy a couple than stay without one. But when are you going to buy the fridge, when are you going to buy the fridge,
when are you going to buy the fridge, when, but when?

S.O.D. "Speak English Or Die" live at the Whisky a go go

It's true: they don't make truly serious bands like they used to.

I've Seen Darker Nights - The Thanes

In a remarkable period of “welcome back pippe” - I admit I wasn’t feeling it anymore - I listened to, (re)discovered garage bands with soul and blood that, as per usual, have the most diverse influences from beat to punk, from psychedelia to R&B - from power pop to folk, from rockabilly to mod, even soul and even hard rock. In short, the essence of Rock and Roll as true beasts to the wild scream of “fuck your virtuosic and super-fast scales and your four octaves of fucking vocal range”. Since 1990 onward, with some revivals of old relics, savansadir.

Antenna Surprise - The Thanes

During a remarkable period of “welcome back wankers” - I admit I wasn’t feeling it anymore - I listened to, (re)discovered garage bands that are pure soul and blood, with, as per the rule, the most diverse influences from beat to punk, from psychedelia to R&B - from power pop to folk, from rockabilly to mod, even soul and even hard rock. In short, the essence of rock 'n' roll from true beasts to the wild scream of “fuck your bullshit virtuosic and fast scales and your four-octave vocal range bullshit.” Since 1990 and onward, with a few comebacks of old relics, savansadir.
