We are at the peak of the Humble Pies (always too low, too... but that's okay). If their albums sell less compared to other big bands, their concerts are extremely popular. They may not attract oceanic crowds, but their tours are very well followed, and above all, their stunning performances... these 7 tracks are a small/enormous proof of that. Here Muddy Waters is transformed, distorted, altered... a testament to hard blues with a masterful soul touch, to say the least.

The structures, sounds, and vocal harmonies of Kraftwerk, New Order, Art of Noise, Scritti Politti, and YMO are the pinnacle of the electro/wave/synth pop scene. Magic that I find trapped or confined within the static format of Gary Numan, in the Foxx of Metamatic and his peers... they could have pushed it further, especially considering John who distanced himself from Ultravox precisely to explore and experiment with sound language.
