After a long 11-year hiatus, Carella returns to the music scene with a collection of new tracks and old favorites called Carella De Carellis. In the meantime, it seems that Carella hasn't changed musically: we have the usual songs that blend pop and rock (Aspetta and S.P.A) along with others that showcase Carella's funk-infused nuances (L'occhio nero), but the new tracks have a different shape. They align more closely with the period in which they were released. This can be both a great strength and a significant drawback. The album also features an acoustic experiment titled Bubbà, a dance piece called La pappa del cuore, and the cautious ballad Pensa se una. The downside of this record lies in the old tracks, which are of decidedly poor quality, presenting lackluster alternative versions. Nonetheless, a few songs shine through, particularly Carmè, which has become rhythmically more prominent (not that it wasn't before) and Barbara. In the end, what can be said about this album? Aside from the newly unreleased tracks of excellent quality, it’s not an essential album. It seems that Carella is laying the groundwork for something else that is indeed coming soon.

Nova - Driftwood
The first two albums are the beautiful image we Italians created in America, which was all about fusion. Corrado Rustici, the guitarist of Cervello, had become super fast like Holdsworth 😆 His voice fits perfectly with the American sound, and honestly, I prefer it to Vairetti's, who is sublime with Osanna but less impactful in other projects like Città frontale and Uno.
