According to the biblical account, Jephthah, a judge of Israel, frees the Israelites from the oppression of the Ammonites through a vow, namely to offer as a burnt sacrifice to God the first one who would come out of his house to meet him.
The first to come out is his daughter, who accepts her fate, asking her father only to be allowed to wander in the mountains (to weep for her virginity) for two months before the sacrifice.

.: Ubaldo Oppi “The Daughter of Jephthah,” 1926 :.

The author studied at the Academy in Vienna, where he attended the School of the Nude, and after an initial approach to the avant-gardes, he became one of the seven founders of the Novecento group and one of the leading exponents of "Magical Realism."

His subjects are classical bodies set in nature that are renewed in their pronounced sensuality.

This work by Oppi depicts the daughter of Jephthah before the sacrifice.

Look at how much fun they were having even in the seventeenth century, puffing on long pipes (and who knows what they were crumbling inside even back then...) and sipping on tall flutes of good beer, huh, not bad at all for those folks.

Pieter de Hooch, born in Rotterdam on December 20, 1629, was the author of a vast series of charming scenes set in taverns, courtyards, and both humble and luxurious dwellings, all distinguished by a masterful use of perspective and light, thanks also to his long stay in Delft in the Netherlands, the hometown of his contemporary Johannes van der Meer, "Jan" to his friends.

This depiction of a couple smoking a pipe and enjoying a beer is from 1658-1660 and is housed in the Mauritshuis, or "House of Maurice" (uh, just like my real name) in The Hague.

Curiosity of the day:
What you see in the photo is an ephemeral, a small aquatic insect resembling a dragonfly. Once it has surpassed the larval stage and reached adulthood, the lifespan of this species is about one hour and thirty minutes, enough time for mating. In the entomological and animal kingdom, only the reviews of @[raskolnikov86] on the homepage of Debaser have an even shorter lifespan, just forty-five minutes.

@[raskolnikov86] this is the comment I was writing under your editorial before you blocked me:
Listen dear raskolnikov, no one here has anything against anyone out of bias, and if perhaps you had been less hasty in placing BRU and blocking everyone, maybe you wouldn't be complaining today. Let me explain it calmly: blocking a person is a strong action, as it prevents them from commenting on any of your content, even to apologize for the excessive tones used previously, to say "well done, this time you're right," or to do anything else. If your thin, bland, and merely factual reviews are rated poorly by everyone, it's not because you are inherently disliked; rather, it’s because they are considered subpar. As far as I'm concerned, and I'll tell you sincerely, if you published a page that was not just nice but decent, I would give you the maximum stars, as much as it matters (which is little). That said, by publishing something in this place, which others have already pointed out is NOT a SOCIAL, you expose yourself to the judgment of others, with all that entails. And this applies to EVERYONE. Do you think @[algol] and @[lector], to name two people I respect (yes, people, not users, given that here, for the most part, through long and sincere interaction, the people behind the users shine through), have never given a star to one of my writings? OH, WHAT A SHAME! Of course they have, and I did not react by placing BRU and blocking everyone like you did, but by trying to understand the reason. And the reason is simple: there are implicit behavioral rules that apply to this place as they do to coexistence or standing in line at the post office, and they include, even at the expense of horn clashes. That said, don't think I care if x, y, or z leave a negative comment on one of my pages, given that it’s precisely in this that the relational dynamics of the deb consist, but I would never dream of blocking someone so that they are not free to comment on anything I write here, because THIS is a "childish" behavior, as you say.
I hope I was clear, goodbye.
