The cause of his death was never disclosed.

He was seventy-seven years old when his friends alerted the police after not being able to contact him for a few days.

They found him lying in his bed in Beverly Hills.

He died on July 2, 2016.

Standing at 1.65 m tall and with a steel character, he was called the Napoleon of Hollywood.

About fifteen years prior, he was interviewed by Vanity Fair, and the reporter struggled to recognize him; he looked like a different person, with bleached hair, he had become extremely thin, had an androgynous appearance, and his face was now marred by plastic surgery procedures. False rumors circulated about a sex change and his severe addiction to alcohol and drugs, propagated by a press eager to destroy the human and artistic image of one of the most visionary directors of the new Hollywood.

He had nothing in common with that enfant prodige who seemed a step away from the top of Hollywood in the 1970s.

With "The Deer Hunter" in '78 (his second film), in Italian "Il Cacciatore," he took home 5 Oscars.

From childhood, I have never been
like others; I have never seen
as others saw; I could not derive
my emotions from a common source;
but pain never from the same source.
I could not awake my heart
to joy with the same tone as others;
all that I loved, I loved alone.

Then, in my childhood, dawn
of a life much tormented,
the mystery that still envelops me
emerged from every depth of good and evil:
from torrent or from spring,
from the red crag of the mountain,
from the sun that turned around me
in its golden autumn colors,
from the light that approached in the sky
as it passed near me,
from thunder and storm
from the cloud that took the shape
(the other sky was clear)
of a demon in my eyes.

Here is the text of the email I just sent to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster:
Dear all,
My name is.... During today's Faculty Meeting (10/7/21), I requested that my request to include on the agenda of the next meeting the discussion on the adoption, by our Institute, of the ruling established regarding the display of Crucifixes in classrooms by the ruling of the Court of Cassation on 9/9/21 (No. 24414) be recorded.
I would like to remind you that this ruling gives school authorities the responsibility to decide on the issue, reiterating that such display is no longer mandatory (but likewise, the removal of the Crucifix is not obligatory either).
The ruling suggests reaching a calm mediation among the various positions regarding this matter (ahahahaha...).
It states that – among the possibilities for agreement – the opportunity to display other religious symbols alongside the Crucifix could also be considered.
For this reason, I am requesting to be able to display the symbols of the Pastafarian Religion to which I have chosen to adhere (I have been touched by the Enlightenment!).
I would like to exhibit sacred colanders or similar items (the liscafisso, as pleasant as it is, seems too less visible to me); thus, I ask you: which objects do you think I should display, how can I bless them so as to make them valid objects of Worship, can I receive your official endorsement (or similar documentation) to present to the Principal and anyone who wishes it to affirm the actual sacredness of the items in question?
In short, to put it plainly: can I receive your support for this battle of civilization?
Hopeful for a prompt response, I extend my greetings.

If I succeed in displaying the Sacred Colander in the classrooms of my Institute, I will post the photos dedicating them to the two boring fakes @[neave] and @[whiseas] (and to those who bring them to life considering it amusing).

For @[zotter] and for everyone, since it’s been a while since I've been almost completely absent.
It’s quite a complicated time; there have been events (which maybe one day I will share) that have led me to have virtually no free time at all. Every now and then I stop by to comment on something or "bleat" about some listening, but the presence I had not too long ago is no longer there.
I hope to be able to return as soon as possible.
Greetings to all, but really to everyone.
