The Vectors - What In The World(1965).

The Huns - Shakedown (60'S SNOTTY GARAGE ROCK)

It’s the excitement of a moment, maybe two. That’s why it works especially for a 45 RPM single, often with misspelled titles and names on the masters and labels of the vinyl. As further confirmation of a casualness that dominated all stages of the process. For many others, it won’t work at all, getting stuck in the limited space and finances of a demo tape, of a reel, of a cassette.”

Reigning Sound - "Break It" from LOVE AND CURSES

Besides Mick Collins, another devil-wizard of the genre is Greg - Oblivians - Cartwright. Legendary with the Oblivians, immense with the Compulsive Gamblers, and superb with this other magnificent creation of his.

With Too Much Guitar, you say to yourself, “okay, he made the masterpiece album with his Reigning Sound,” and instead this cursed bastard takes a whole five years and hits you with a wonderful album, a “moody & melancholic” side - his words - of the Oblivians sound. You can't define it… it takes you back to adolescence with sounds full of sixties moods, R&B, soul, but also imbued with that traditional American sound...
And with that bastard voice, winking… despite the 17 octaves of the “great singer” which I couldn’t care less about... that animates this splendid bastard…

The Blues Magoos - Gotta Get Away

The Essential Albums: “Mercury Singles 1966-1968”

Rev recommends this collection from a few years back, which gathers the singles from these three years, almost all included in the first three albums, representing the true essence of the band. Here’s my take: the debut Psychedelic Lollipop is ONE of the indispensable albums of the genre, Electric Comic Book is a worthy successor, while Basic Blues Magoos closes the brief but intense saga of the Bronx boys. The debut is more garage-beat, the second more psychedelic, the third more basic r&b.

From the debut, this double shot with an original beat is one of the most intense and personal versions of Tobacco Road.

The Dead Daisies - Face Your Fear (Official Video)

Does anyone fancy a good Glen Hugo cask-matured?

Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Cowgirl in the Sand ( live 1970 )

50 years without Danny Whitten, when the needle and the damage done truly materialized...

The Cavemanish Boys - (You're So) Jealous (Of Me That I Can't Talk To You)

This time I disagree with the Reverend. This is a great album, plugged into the USB yesterday and blasted through the car speakers this morning. I don't know who recommended it to me with a listen or what...

The Last Drive - Joe Esposito's Gun

These Greeks are really impressive, completely unknown to me until yesterday, savansadir.
