stunning review...the album is impossible to judge because it’s not even an album, but rather a (somewhat haphazard) collection of tracks...some of these are extraordinarily modern (Better Man, Evil Hearted, which is my favorite, Still I'm Sad, etc...)...already hinting at American garage (Seeds, Count Five) and primordial psychedelia (the very early Jefferson...Blues From An Airplane borrows quite a bit from certain Yardbirds)...not to mention Led Zeppelin, who took everything from the Yardbirds (except the folk)...well, then there’s I'm A Man, with a progression that speaks for itself...ESSENTIAL...

I disagree, vortex... for me it’s almost the exact opposite... or rather: the entire 80s were fantastic, especially the middle part... I’m mainly referring to the American scene... SY and JAMC are among the things I like least from that era... @supersoul, I wasn’t making a point about necessity or attitude... I was more referring to style and content... I immediately associate lo-fi pop with BH, Pavement, Guided, Sebadoh, music that has something romantic at its core... the HJ, on the other hand, are crazy, just like the DNA, the Mars, J. Chance and all the other no-wave noise artists... anyway, sso dde coccio, what can I say! :-D
