Leonard Cohen Dear Heather
Voto:
as if it were antani, for two, with a pinch of sbiriguda, which never teases, if nothing else. And in any case, in my modest opinion, the comeback album "ten new songs" is better, a true masterpiece of the Altro and the Etereo. Here, we always fly very high, for goodness' sake, but just a few centimeters below...
Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here

"it's not musically at the levels of the band's psychedelic era"... but why should we feel compelled to say this...? as if it were written in the book of times that it's forbidden to consider Waters and Gilmour far superior to Barrett (as they always have been...). Ragas, here the true revolutionary spirit, the real challenge, is to stop being pseudo-alternative and accept things as they are: Lennon-McCartney, Waters-Gilmour, Jagger-Richards, these (and a few others, Dylan, Young, etc...) have created the true classical music of the late twentieth century, the rest is fluff for banal minds or fake intellectual-alternatives. (And "Wish" is an absolutely stunning album, period, in the sense that nothing can be added to the perfection of the Work, except for jarring and useless rivers of words.)
Pino Daniele Il mio nome è Pino Daniele e vivo qui

Just think that Uncle Pino is my "legal" dealer... meaning I always buy, all original, often cursing like a cowherd... Here, one doesn't enjoy, but one is well. (If I want to attempt objectivity, in my opinion, the works that deserve the original purchase are those from the first, "terra mia," to "ferry boat"... thus I would be very strict... I mean, I preach one way and, as always, practice another...)
Roberto Benigni La Vita E' Bella
Voto:
terrible film, incomprehensibly praised by the broccoli-eating, Jewish America (maybe not so incomprehensibly...). The comparison with Fellini is pure insult, ignorant shame that causes pain to anyone who truly loves cinema.
Woody Allen Crimini E Misfatti
Voto:
No, ajeje, let's be clear: I love Woody, but sometimes he recycles ideas (it's not the first time). One thing can be a similar underlying idea, another is, in fact, a remake. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but it’s the same film (and crimes… it's better, by far).
Art Garfunkel Some Enchanted Evening
Voto:
The Beatles…??? I'm not talking about the others, but have you ever really listened to Abbey Road? Huh… these kids…
Simple Minds Black & White 050505

I agree on everything, even though emotionally speaking (and ultra-subjectively) for me "once upon" remains the peak, both in terms of arrangements and compositions (more harmonically than literarily). But, I admit it first, it could be a biased judgment.
Enzo Jannacci The Best
Voto:
@nickman: well done. For an old-timer like me, seeing someone like you (a rarity) exploring almost deserted lands is an immense pleasure. One recommendation: try not to have a too superficial and generational judgment about Vasco, and listen to his works from 1978 to 1982, without prejudice: you will find a brand new and enormous singer-songwriter. Today’s version is just an industrial caricature of that. Anyway, well done!
Art Garfunkel Some Enchanted Evening
Voto:
As a career in general, yes, absolutely: I was talking about the level of the best works.

Let's clarify: without a doubt (and I emphasize without a doubt) the greatness of the duo Simon & Garfunkel is not, nor can it be, up for discussion. Their historic records are certainly on par with those of the Fab Four, the best of Neil Young, the greatest of Dylan, etc... I have no doubts about this. What I expressed was a completely subjective "outburst" that certainly needed to be clarified better. Thank you anyway for the kind words.
