Roger Waters Amused To Death
Voto:
Great review, definitely commendable. It’s certainly an important album, very well written and performed. It’s certainly not too far off, neither in themes nor in sound, from the final cut of the Pink. At that time, the two fan bases were violently divided. I was with the Pink (and I still would be, for many reasons that would take long to explain...), while greatly appreciating the divine undigestibility of Waters.
Vasco Rossi Bollicine

tuned Vasco... come on... that brag Biagio Antonacci must be in tune then... Vasco was and still is a national monument, drug or no drug. However, whoever says he was a junkie until Stupido Hotel is probably too young to remember what he was like back in the days of this unparalleled Bollicine... Now, by comparison, I would easily put him teaching in kindergarten...
Jovanotti Buon Sangue
Voto:
he just has a longer beard, but he's the same old superficial, simplistic, and overly nice idiot. People like him have ruined Italian music. He hangs out with Nek and Pausini, not with De Gregori (who should be listened to when he sings, like everyone else).
Bob Dylan At Budokan

absolutely the best live (and there are many...) of Dylan. A historic album, perfect. Incredibly significant.

The girl is too young to make her a senator for life. But she doesn't even have citizenship...? That's a minor problem...: we'll definitely find someone to marry her here. It's people like that who have music in their hands, guys. In the eighties, people like that had their hands on some serious stuff and a camera from whatever Andrew Blake was around at the time pointed right at their faces. Who is...? Shame on you.
Premiata Forneria Marconi Live in Japan 2002

an idea contrary to that of shit...: much better than the pure chaos (albeit large, for heaven's sake...) of Siena. The PFM is a wonderful band (if only they had written decent lyrics... but that's another story). If they hadn't done that with De Andrè, in my opinion this is their best live performance.
Vasco Rossi Bollicine

The album (bootleg cassette from the market) with which I met him, a few centuries ago. A small masterpiece, featuring three of the most beautiful songs ever (Vita Spericolata, Una Canzone Per Te, and Giocala) and an unbeatable eighties vibe. For me, the first and best Vasco ends there. Then there's the one that goes from Cosa Succede In Città to Gli Spari Sopra, great but not extraordinary, followed by the next one, an excellent craftsman but no longer a songwriter (except for a few grand tail ends).
Francesco De Gregori Pezzi
Voto:
Discs must be evaluated in the historical context in which they are released, with a focus on the caliber of the artist who conceived them. De Gregori wrote and recorded "Pezzi" here, today, in 2005. Surely not to be compared with "Donna Cannone" or "Casa Di Hilde". De Gregori does what a great cantautore must do: he writes songs, automatically measuring himself against his own standards, but not enslaved by the awareness of having to produce masterpieces. And often, that's the best way to create them. "Pezzi" is, today, a masterpiece. Perhaps it wouldn't have been if it had been released three months after "Bufalo Bill," but today it is (considering that six months after "Bufalo Bill" he would never have written "Pezzi"... or would he...? That's all).

a record that made history. Rightfully so.
Vasco Rossi Stupido Hotel
Voto:
In my opinion (but I’m a longtime Vascomane...: I bought the bootleg box of Bollicine when it came out...) this is the least inspired album by VR. Sure, Buoni O Cattivi and Nessun Pericolo Per Te aren’t masterpieces either, but both had that track that soared (in the former, Un Senso; in the latter, Sally e Gli Angeli). Here, it’s hard to find a song that saves the album. If we want to be generous, let’s commend the post-production: the album truly "sounds" amazing.
