I agree with voice... it shouldn't be labeled. Let's keep in mind, though, that the guy is capable of soaring high if he wants to (Bluesugar is beautiful for me and remains so) and this album has more than just a nod to the charts and more "accessible" tastes... and in this sense, I read the confessional phrase about eagles and turkeys... anyway, it listens very well, for goodness' sake... il bar musicale di FullG

Let’s be clear... I don’t hate it, but I find it a minor episode in an otherwise very beautiful, introspective, and melancholic album (with the beautiful final exception, wonderfully thrown into chaos)... it’s an album that I have loved a lot, and Cyrano has simply always seemed a bit "too easy" to me. As always, with respect for others' opinions, of course. il bar musicale di FullG

fuck...not even a little insult...a provocation...thank you all, really. yes, I still have the tapes, all of them, including the first one I bought, personally, which was "Banana Republic," 1979. by the way: the tapes still sound great, no bullshit. but the little cassette I absolutely adore is an old Mixage with Pink Project (I can't add anything more...those who know understand, and those who understand know...). il bar musicale di FullG
Franco Battiato L'imboscata

for me the absolute best of Battiato's second life, the one in 4 hands with Sgalambro. and this for reasons that are too long to explain...probably a counter-review will be needed...

It's true that tastes are subjective, but to believe that this and "Le corde" are the two best Battiato songs seems to me a provocatively niche stance. Said, of course, with respect.

Frankly (said with affection), I find it inexplicable how RG can be included among the ranks of "our best songwriters"....well, to each their own...but just a bit of objectivity...come on...

divin: I absolutely agree with the concept, not with the example, as I consider Cyrano one of his weakest pieces ever, part of a beautiful album from ten years ago, featuring many other gems (still, we agree on the principle).
