I am well aware that at the sight of this review, I will receive dozens of comments and opposing opinions with the usual "again...", "enough...", half of them taking one side, half the other... I don't care!
It seems that Guccini wants to say this too, or rather: "Now I want to do what I want, leave me alone!" (As if Guccini had ever subjected himself to the rules of the music industry). And that's how, between a tour and a speech slipped between one song and another, this Anfiteatro Live emerged, where we can also find songs never before present on a live performance such as Shomér, Ma Mi-Llailah?, as well as tracks from the latest Ritratti and the inevitable Dio è morto, Autogrill, and La Locomotiva (it's curious that on this tour L'Avvelenata is not present, which Guccini once mentioned singing reluctantly and only to please the audience).
The warm and stumbling voice of Guccio blends with those notes of Folk Beat n° 1 in a more modern arrangement. An interpretation few could do, habitual stumbles, but deep down, what would his concert be if everything were perfect, all calculated? Guccini's songs are always left to chance with improvised words and ever-changing melodies, or maybe it's a "planned chance" because I really like it. Songs made "with seven essential notes and four chords sewn crosswise".
I believe that one of the best periods for a singer is when they have reached maturity, even if after that they are no longer able to invent something extravagant and original (precisely because they have reached maturity), but they have behind them a mountain of material to draw inspiration from and always invent something good, and I believe that Guccini, with that voice that softens more and more over time, has succeeded well in this aspect, very well.
He, poet, musician, a person more than a character, he who sings stories with simplicity and sings his ideas with passion.
A live that conveys the love for music and the love of narrating what surrounds us in the world.
