I can't believe that Prince is back at this level—I really didn't expect it anymore... what a satisfaction!!! I would have spent a few words on The Word, a truly spectacular track; for now, it's the one I prefer along with the aforementioned Love (without a doubt the best melody that Prince has written in the last 15 years!)

I know all their singles but I've never listened to one of their albums in full... if I had to make up for it, I think I would start right from this one because I've always heard great things about it and because Being Boring is a great track. Anyway, what has always held me back is probably Tennant's voice, which I've never found to be really impactful or compelling... actually, at times a bit annoying. Still, sooner or later I believe it's worth exploring. Great review!

But why is it that if something appreciated by critics and the public doesn't appeal to us, we have to say it’s overrated? Isn’t that too subjective a judgment? For instance, I don’t like Joy Division; listening to them is torturous for me, yet I don’t say they’re a bluff. It’s me who doesn’t understand them, who can’t appreciate them...

And then shall we talk about how Morrissey sings in The Boy With The Thorn In His Side!? It's magnificent, nothing irritating about it! Usually, when listening to an album, one tends to focus on the music, the melodies, the lyrics, and pay a bit less attention to the interpretation, which instead in an album like this is as important and distinctive as the other elements.

The review is really well done, but I might only agree with you when you say that Strangeways is a great album... The Queen Is Dead, however, is certainly no less. Perhaps it’s a bit too dictated by personal tastes...

I liked this review; the other one didn't do justice to this beautiful album.

It's not my favorite from the Alan Parsons Project, but it's still a great album, and the review is very well written... what happened to Woolfson!? He has a truly beautiful voice.

Great album, I absolutely love the glam-cabaret atmosphere that oozes from several tracks... yet Ziggy Stardust might have an edge, I find it more compelling!
