Well done, Socrates! The Church... i Mission... The Saints... I've always wondered why these Australian bands adopted such "ecclesiastical" names... do you know? Bye :)

I've read this review many times. I've been mulling it over (listening to Aladdin). Anyway, you've struck a chord with me, Francis.

I really appreciate Four Tet. I trust your judgment a lot, J_ (beautiful review!). I will try to get this record for a friend who will adore it. And I’d like to speak up for another Swiss friend of mine who is highly regarded, even by this circle of laptop magicians: his name is Claudio, known as BALDUIN, and here you can find all of his new album available to listen to in mp3 balduin

Bravo Easy, an impeccable review :) I really appreciated Blur from the Brit scene, but I haven't delved into it much (though it was clear to me that Oasis annoy me). Coxon... I really like how Francis defined him: almost a budding Elvis Costello. Just so, with all the pros and cons involved.

Manu Chao Siberie m'etait contéee

I have always appreciated Manu Chao; as Giò says, he is an honest artist, very spontaneous. However, I particularly like his songs sung in French; the mixture of Spanish and Zapatista makes me smile a bit, affectionately I think it's a bit of a mess, Manu dipping all ten fingers in colors and then spreading them on the canvas simultaneously, like a child does. The Mano Negra before, his first solo albums... all good, but then even I started to get tired of him. I have always hoped that one day he would make an album entirely in French. Because Manu’s style, that lightness, that fickleness, that vaporousness, is typically French. He is a bit coquette and cheeky, like a beautiful Parisian girl with a sulky little face, who suddenly bursts into a cheeky laugh. --- In the book: there are not only the illustrations by Wozniac (his little ladies with pointy nipples are famous all over the world), not only the song lyrics, but there are also poems by Manu and other artists, including beautiful poems by some African refugees. --- I had to write this review, even though it goes beyond my musical habits. I love Paris, I mean I adore it. For a while, I won't be able to go there, maybe next year. In the meantime, I console myself with this work. :) (On Monday, the France operation kicks off: I absolutely need an Edith Piaf record and a Brel one) --- for Giò, beautiful memory of Ibiza :D / for Francis, no Mediterranean, but there is a little bit of African in there... / for Zeta: the croque-madame is a toast served on a plate with, in addition to ham and cheese and tomato, a fried egg. Without the egg, it is called croque-monsieur. Slurp :P On Monday, the famous package I promised you 'years' ago goes out :)/ Thanks, Easy, Enryka, and Poddo :)
