Robert Kirkman, Frank Darabont The Walking Dead

I just finished the second season... the first had me really hooked, but the second is a bit too focused on sentimentalism, interpersonal stories, and quite boring squabbles... in any case, the tension is still there, and Daryl is a great character... I will keep watching it in hopes of witnessing the disemboweling of that unbearable pain in the ass, Rick's wife...

"You can't waste a piece like that with such a text." The lyrics of I Am the Walrus (in my top 5 of the Beatles) are fantastic, and your phrase suggests that you haven't understood a thing about the song. With that music and that singing, no lyrics could have been more appropriate than those... I'm sorry, but it's a solid 1.

Welcome, Samantha. P.S. It had been years since I read an opening so full of pathos...
George A. Romero Survival Of The Dead

"There is no moment of tension or fear"...March, the movie is an absolute travesty, we can agree on that... but I think you misjudged the film: it's meant to be a trash/comedy flick... sure, it fails (spectacularly) from that standpoint as well, but I believe Romero wanted to parody his zombie saga. The characters are all idiotic caricatures, but that's intentional... the idea was to depict human stupidity, unfortunately in a stupid way. The "cinematic timing" is almost amateurish, technically it's an appalling piece of work and turns out to be terrible even as a b-movie... I don't know how George could have become so out of touch, as even in Diary of the Dead, trying to criticize the mass media, he ended up creating unintentionally comedic scenes. Here, the comedy is intentional, but it doesn't make you laugh. I only save the final scene, with the two zombies shooting at each other endlessly in front of an unbelievably unrealistic moon. ps. The special effects are intentionally "homemade", it's not Savini's fault (I don’t even know if he worked on them).

I completely agree with the reviewer... "Unfortunately, the feeling I can't shake off after watching is that the multiple souls that characterize the work do not coexist in a blend that is convincing from start to finish." This sentence summarizes the film... many good ideas, tasteful laughs when the merman finally shows up and pisses on the guy squashed by the exhaust... but there are many unconvincing parts... the last 20 minutes are indeed memorable... in fact, I would have left more room for the monster attack and less for the idiots in the woods... what a shame.
