"Titanic"; "aliens"; "terminator2"; "true lies"; These are other films (not all, but the most famous) masterfully directed by Cameron... It seems obvious to me that he is a director who aims more to tell a story through images rather than choosing convoluted screenplays. Therefore, to claim that Avatar is a subpar film because it has a clichéd plot seems really stupid to me. If you want to see a film with sociocultural depth (which, loosely speaking, could be here too, but let's pretend it isn't), a film where the plot takes center stage, or where the psychology of each character is laid bare, and you go watch Avatar hoping your expectations are met, it means you don't understand much about cinema at all... You’d be better off watching a film by Kim Ki-duk, Woody Allen, or Park Chan-wook (all excellent directors). Cinema was born as a means of entertainment and it’s normal for directors to approach cinema with this spirit: to entertain. Certainly, in this type of cinema, it’s easier to find highly praised directors who produce dreadful work (Michael Bay above all), but it's also true that among them are directors with serious talent, and Cameron is one of them. The reason is evident when watching Avatar; if you don't grasp it, there’s a foundational issue that's hard to shake off: "if everyone goes to see a film and it is heavily advertised, then it must be crap." No, it's not like that; it’s not always like that, and it hasn't been so for millions of films. Of course, there are just as many unknown films that deserve more recognition, but that doesn't mean all Hollywood blockbusters are worthless. Go watch Avatar with an open heart: it's a Cameron film, a comic book movie like "Aliens: Final Battle" and "Terminator 2," a film where as soon as you walk into the theater you already know how it’s going to end, but who cares? Cinema is also about having fun, and Avatar entertains like few other films can.

"I have all the albums and I've also read a lot of books about the band. So it's clear that you're a fan and therefore not very objective by definition :) Anyway, good review in the end."

I love comment 20: rich in arguments and motivations... perhaps a bit cryptic, but truly exhaustive! But even more, I’m thrilled by comment 40, loaded with a sensuality not seen since the Moulin Rouge in Paris in the 1920s... damn Ash, if you weren't around, we’d have to invent you! (In case it’s not clear, it was a message that translated would sound something like: "Ash, if you tried to remove that umbrella stand from your ass, you’d probably be more relaxed and come across as more pleasant." But I fully realize that if you were pleasant, you wouldn’t be Ash... and we’d have to search for another Nirvana fanatic with a stick up her ass (and I don't think there are any besides you). Ps: a big kiss to Ash, who I hope gets a laugh out of my deliberately provocative phrase (just as, after all, every word spoken by Ash is deliberately provocative, and if she knows how to play the game she loves so much, fine; if she can't handle it, that's a bit her problem).

Among other things, it often happens that we have to assemble scenes that are already "assembled" by the directing plan, meaning that the possibility to intervene from a editing perspective is impossible... (that's why I mentioned I didn't know whether to laugh or cry).

"Editing gives the rhythm, the construction of the story" is a true thing and a load of nonsense: it definitely gives the rhythm, but the construction of the story (that's given by the screenplay after being revised by the director; at most, you intervene in a few moments with some bits and pieces). But let’s also admit that you might be right (I've edited videos for work, I know you’re not right but let’s humor you anyway) — the rhythm and the structure of the story are not the most important thing in a film; whether we like it or not, it's the balance between editing, screenplay, cinematography, music, special effects, and screenplay that makes the film appreciable or not. In conclusion, the most important thing in a film is the work carried out by the director and the assistant director together, which is not a simple direction. (Then you can keep quoting Hitchcock and filling your mouth with words, without remembering that the same sacred monster claimed that actors meant nothing, while surrounding himself with stars; or without considering the fact that often he was the one editing his films and perhaps meant that screenplay + cinematography (almost always taken care of by Hitchcock) + editing + screenplay (which he also often heavily influenced) are the most important aspects of a film... Yes, but that’s not one thing, it’s almost all the components that make up a film brought together.)

I don't know what's more absurd, the reviews of Creative or the comments of Atans... Atanas, my boy, don’t you think this phrase is ridiculous: "the fact is that this piece of poop has ripped off a masterpiece like Reign in Blood"? I mean, if he had pissed on your shoes, I’d understand the damage done and your subsequent outburst, but we're talking about someone who's clearly just messing around… then with this phrase, "If I find you on the street I’ll beat you to a pulp and reduce you to mush, FUCKING NERD!!!!!!!! AND POSER," you’ve brought yourself down to his level, with the only difference being that Creative is obviously a fake created to provoke certain attitudes (at least, I hope so...) while you are not.

No, sorry... were you serious??? I prefer a blatant fake to someone who sincerely proposes "emerald sword" as a national anthem! Damn, the lyrics, by the way, are: "For the KING, for the lands, for the mountains / for the green valleys where dragons fly / for glory, for power, to defeat the dark lord / I will seek the sword of emerald..." Do you really have the guts to say you were sincere when you promoted this song as a national anthem (not to mention the presence of a king in the anthem of a republic)? Damn, then you are the real genius, not these fakes! I'm flying (on my golden dragon) right away to give you a 5!
