Nanni Moretti really gets on my nerves: he's a crap director. He's an intellectual film buff who thinks that just being leftist is enough to make a movie. Almost all of Italian criticism inexplicably follows him. We've lost track of people like Nichetti, and this crap of a man is still around gaining support. "Palombella Rossa" is the manifesto of the alternative student who emigrated to Bologna (you might as well read the manifesto of why Bologna is a crappy place). "La stanza del figlio" is one of the most cunning, incorrect, despicable films, a real son of a bitch as far as I remember. If I run into him on the street, I'll yell, "Drop dead, Berlusconi-loving piece of shit," just to annoy him a bit.

I fully agree and add: the authors of ico and sotc gave an interview some time ago in which they said: "we prefer to make a game that makes 10 people fall in love rather than one that sells a million copies." They are an internal team at Sony, they can afford it, and they certainly create art. But they are, if not the only ones, almost. Anyway, Kojima made the last Castlevania. I haven't tried it, but those who have played it (people I know) claim it's the worst title released for PS3 (and it obviously sold a ton). Kojima artist??? Kojima commercial genius!

What I did say is that ICO IS art... sorry, but who were you talking to? If MGS is art, then so is Avatar, and Blood Sugar Sex Magik by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is art too. For me, neither that movie nor that album (as enjoyable as they are) are art. ICO is art just like The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari or Horse Rotorvator by Coil.
