And with Suspiria, it was already on the decline. I don’t understand how Mario Bava is one of the most well-known Italian directors abroad, while in Italy nobody gives a damn about him, and instead, people keep following Darietto, who, except for three or four films, has made pathetic films one after another.

please don't compare the musical weight of the 13 floor elevators to the Verdena, for goodness' sake. Let's get one thing straight: they could afford to say nothing and not get criticized by the Italian audience (and beyond). It would be nice if Verdena wrote something acceptable (because I’m really fed up with people writing crap lyrics in Italy). Of course, they can still be liked a lot; I can't stand them (and they really get on my nerves), but they can be appreciated. De gustibus, up to a point.
