First, he convinces himself that he's the only director allowed to use the term "negro" (because he's a racist, but let's not tell him that), then he adapts to his directing style "niggaz" a film that has nothing to do with niggaz culture whatsoever (because he's a racist with delusions of grandeur). Now, in the year when the debut horror film of an African American director is making waves and sparking discussions (Get Out), he suddenly decides to become a horror director in two weeks. No complaints about his past, from doing the right thing in Bamboozled to 25th Hour, and all the rest, fine. But nowadays Spike has seriously lost it. He says and does things that would only come to mind to Snoop Dogg after a two-week bong session. It's not a problem, mind you, but if you live behind this stoner nonsense with your usual serious and self-referential attitude... I mean, Spike: you come off as a confused stoner, for God's sake, you can't act as a prophet under these conditions. Get it together.

The success of Calibro is due to the massive amount of consistently excellent concerts they've been putting on for years. I haven't heard this, so I can't judge, but the only one of their works that works well in the living room is "Traditori di tutti." This doesn't mean that I find their success unmerited. On the contrary, in my opinion, given what they give and what their concerts give me, they have little of it.

five a piece (really?) one for the vinyl. Sonic Titan and Antarcticans Thawed: there is no studio recording, together they exceed twenty minutes, and along with the clarity they made an EP worth the €30 they were asking for these beautiful ten minutes. Ten minutes, barely... On Discogs the prices are now down, thank God. Anyway, Antarcticans Thawed is one of my favorite tracks of theirs: "Record it properly, damn it!"
