a review a bit too cryptic and full of clichéd commonplaces, the album is very beautiful, one of my favorites, I’d give it a 4, but I can’t bring myself to give it a 5 like the first unbeatable album deserved. However, aègis isn’t as bad as it has been made out to be. Personally, I also appreciate the absence of RR's growl, which to be honest has never sat well with me. A pity for some stylistic missteps like samantha and lorelai (in my opinion the weakest tracks on the album). Cassandra is a masterpiece of great craftsmanship and extraordinary sweetness, siren is superb (the keyboards are a show), venus I would dare to say legendary, incomparable, along with distance there is it’s my all-time favorite from ToT. Obviously a 10 for Liv's voice, which I find even cleaner and more graceful compared to the first two albums.

disappointing and reductive review, very beautiful album at a 4, I don't feel like giving it a 5 which the first unsurpassed album deserved, but aègis isn't as bad as it has been made out to be. Personally, I also appreciate the absence of RR's growl, which, to be honest, has never appealed to me. It's a shame for some style declines like "samantha" and "lorelai" (in my opinion, the most underwhelming tracks on the album). "Cassandra" is a masterpiece of great workmanship and extraordinary sweetness, "siren" is superb (the keyboards are spectacular), "venus" I would dare say is legendary, unparalleled; together with "distance there is," it is my all-time favorite from ToT. Obviously, 10 for Liv's voice, which I find even cleaner and more graceful compared to the first two albums.
