LA RECENSIONE

Debut album for this one-man band that goes by the name of Atrium Carceri (the name itself is quite telling). It is a difficult, hostile, obsessive, and claustrophobic album, yet equally brilliant, innovative, emotional, and enchanting.

This is not about melodies, but about dark and incredibly stretched sounds/noises that seem to surround the listener, making them feel alone and uncomfortable. Sometimes faint keyboards appear and intertwine with dark, metallic sounds.

It really feels like being in a prison when listening to this album, the isolation is at its peak and despair permeates the soul. The cover enhances this by showing us the atrium of a prison with walls in ruins.

Extraordinary compliments to Simon Heath, the creator of this haunting entity, and compliments to the Cold Meat for making the publication of such a masterpiece possible. I don't think I've ever heard such an engaging album, even if in some ways it is "sick". Spectacular, unrepeatable, unsurpassable. That's all. I'll leave you now. It's late. The prison doors are closing...
