great album, nice review
Modena City Ramblers Riportando tutto a casa

I'm not getting into the controversy. I've read so much nonsense that I could vomit.
Anyway, I agree with those who call it a masterpiece; it’s undoubtedly my favorite from Modena, with Irish atmospheres and flavors dominating and making you feel right there, on the cliffs of Cork or in the pubs of Dublin. The ballads are wonderful (Ninnananna Canto di Natale), stunning are Il funerale di Berlinguer and Quarant'anni, beautiful the versions of Contessa and Bella Ciao, lovely Ahmed l'ambulante and In un giorno di pioggia. A real gem.
One note: Modena is not in Romagna, Guinness is spelled like this. As for the rest, I liked the review (it’s a 3.5 for me).
Rush A Farewell to Kings

Another masterpiece? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The apostrophe only goes with the feminine. Did we even finish elementary school?
And with this pure psychedelia, you've definitely broken it. With the previous review, I was generous; now enough: a concentration of banality and an inability to delve into an album that may or may not be to one’s taste but cannot be dismissed in a few lines. Closer to the heart, Xanadu, Cygnus X-1—cornerstones of the three Canadians' production. Geddy Lee is a great bassist (and you only talk about the keyboards), Alex Lifeson is a very versatile guitarist with a personal style (and you don't even mention him), Neil Peart is a "monstrous" drummer and a great lyricist. All ignored. In short, I think giving this album a 5 is scandalous; reviewing it like this is on the verge of indecency. Try again :)
Genesis A trick of the tail

squonk ripples entangled dance on a volcano los endos are stunning, musically it's almost a masterpiece, the lyrics, in my opinion, are at a distinctly lower level compared to the past (but squonk has a very nice story). I believe there's already a trend towards the "poppization" of it all. This will sharpen in wind and wuthering (your own special way, afterglow) and then it will explode. Nonetheless, a great album.

a bit long perhaps. but the concept expressed is perfect: THE MASTERPIECE of prog music (and not only). and PETER GABRIEL IS GOD!!!
Genesis The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

I understand that some might find it heavy, difficult, and convoluted. But this album is an ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE. Sometimes I also struggle to listen to it all the way through, while if you throw on any random track from the previous triad (or even Trespass), it's nothing but pure poetry; but this is the greatness of the Lamb. In my opinion, the best album in the history of rock, the best album by Genesis, and the best solo by Peter Gabriel. As for the lowercase g, well, I absolutely love TOFT and WAW, but inspiration is something else! The fact that Tony, Steve, Mike, and Phil have been (and are) great musicians is undeniable and proven by the musical beauty of those two albums; that they can even come close to them in terms of inventiveness and poetics, I don't think can be claimed. PETER GABRIEL IS GOD!
I need someone to believe in someone to trust.
Twelfth Night Fact and Fiction
Voto:
the album is a masterpiece. Geoff Mann a great poet. It's a shame because they could have done much, much more. Great review, even though I think 12th Night are not that less prog, they are definitely much more personal than other bands of the time.
Marillion Somewhere Else
Voto:
I am an absolute worshipper of Marillion with Fish. I bought the first two albums with Hogarth and then I "killed" them. This year I recovered them and I regret having thrown away 16 years. Great, very different but immensely skilled technically and still capable of stirring quite a lot of emotion. This album, which I initially loved, by the end, after getting to know all the predecessors, is somewhat disappointing. No total rubbish, mind you, but apart from the title track, not really anything that rises above superficial beauty. Nevertheless, they are absolutely amazing; THEY are the best prog band of the last 30 years (in the 80s only Twelfth Night could come close, but they didn't last long enough). And today, although they have somewhat lost their prog roots, they remain unique. Even if they're too forgotten.
Very nice review.
Genesis Selling England By The Pound

One could discuss for days which is better between this, Foxtrot (maybe today I’d prefer it, who knows about tomorrow), The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (much less prog, but very very brilliant), perhaps even Trespass and Nursery Cryme (there’s Musical Box, and that should be enough). But please don’t speak to me of a decline in inspiration. I am not an absolute progger, yet nothing has shaken and marked my existence more than these records. In my opinion, the review should be a 3.5, but that just can't be done.
And besides, PETER GABRIEL IS GOD!!!!!!!!

it's not that bad. Listening to it again today, after so many years, I find, for example, the title track, dodo-lurker, and more, very beautiful. The turning point had already happened with Duke, here it's more total. I was also stunned at the time, and even today if I listen to who dunnit I'd like to smash the CD (or the vinyl or whatever it is), but even though it's a different band, I still find these Genesis acceptable. Even if, and I hope to incur the disdain of many, PETER GABRIEL IS GOD.
