You know, the thing is that they are two different genres... Battisti is pop, while Guccini and De André are folk (or rock, if you prefer... since folk derives from there...). Battisti with Panella doesn’t really excite me (even though I still prefer it to his collaboration with Mogol) – too much pompous hermeticism that tries to mask a certain emptiness... Musically speaking (within the pop genre), Battisti was number one... a great innovator.
