It works more or less like this: until Against Me! they're all five stars, then it starts with the fours and a halves and the fours. Real Estate would be a three because it's a pain in the ass, but they always have the prettiest guitars in the world, so I include them.

What a nice list! Congratulations on the amount of stuff you’ve listened to :) some things I really liked too (La Dispute, Against Me!, A Silver Mt. Zion, Ben Frost), but ultimately I found 2014 to be quite disappointing.

Thank you, sir. Actually, I didn't put the three, otherwise we would have ended up in the top 100! For the year's balance, see the comment below. And you deserve a gigantic "well done" because you noticed Against Me! Beautiful, very heartfelt punk that is also heavily influenced by Andrew Jackson Jihad.

Look, I've never been a big fan of Against Me!, but this time I found the lyrics and the story of Laura Jane Grace to be beautiful.

Same as me, apart from that farce of Obama Bin Laden and so on that costs him five. On the other hand, it’s true that the AJJ inspiration in the lyrics is noticeable, but a piece like this will never be written by Against Me!

I really need to delve into these Andrew Jackson Jihad then... I'm off to fill the gap XD

Oh, I've been telling you this for a while. Start decisively with Knife Man, since you're used to punk sounds, and never let them go again. Punk rock, of course, since their acoustic albums are punk too.

Thank you very much, I will follow your advice.

Anyway, it's been a rather subdued and unproductive year. Much, much worse than '13. Some albums are bound to grow, like the one by Perfect Pussy, which is a really great foxcore band but is also, above all, a wonderful image search on Google.

In theory, it would be completely out of the contest, but he just had to show up. Hearing him sing those songs two meters away from me (even a few centimeters at times) really etched them into my heart. And I had objectively liked them a lot, so much so that my first reaction was "best Morrissey album since You Are The Quarry."

Of the first fifteen, I absolutely must mention Cloud Nothings as my rock album of the year, and I also want to highlight Have A Nice Life even though I haven't listened to it much! I'm now going to listen to the Big Ups record all the way through once and for all and revisit it!

The Big Ups are very much in the spirit of Cloud Nothings; I preferred them for their freshness and surprise, since they are newcomers, while Cloud Nothings had already said a lot with their previous album. Atheist Self Help, Goes Black, and Justice, then, are unforgettable gems.

Ariel Pink rises. With each listen, I hear things in it that I didn't notice before.
