    It seems exaggerated to put Gentle Giant above VDGG, but it's nice to see the Giant on the podium. Anyway, I know all of them except Druid, Beggars Opera, Greenslade, and Nucleus. If you'd like to recommend something by them, I'd be grateful.

      nucleus is jazz-rock, from there Karl Jenkins and John Marshall emerged, who then joined the post-Wyatt soft machine. The first three albums are very nice, especially We'll Talk About It Later from 1970. greenslade, previously in colosseum, founded the eponymous group in the early '70s. Bedside Manners Are Extra, in my opinion, is their best album. beggars opera are a bit like nice with an added guitarist, revisiting classical pieces; act one is a decent album. druid belongs to the second wave of the '70s, a bit yes clones; Toward the Sun, from '75, is a decent album.
