Disks of Life #34 Steve Hackett - Voyage of the Acolyte (1975) Full Album (ex-Genesis soloists part two) Torn between this, "Spectral Mornings," and that masterpiece for classical guitar that is "A Midsummer's Night Dream." Consider that all three are included. I'm putting this debut because it was a stunning example of solo talent still in the midst of the Genesis phase, because it's tied to the band's style but already different and personal, because all the tracks are beautiful, because that final piece, featuring Sally Campovecchio, is a dizzying peak reached by dear Steve. Unmissable are the buddies Mike & Phil. Unmissable is the absence of Banks :D And I chose it for the unique atmosphere that it creates. Unforgettable.
