Oh How We Danced Track 8: Oh How We Danced Jim Capaldi revisits the Anniversary Song, turning it into a guitar-wind instrument orgy of tears, dance, and unrestrained r&b that pulses life from every note. Huge applause, this man of emotions has gifted us many.

"Un Mercoledì da Leoni", titoli di testa

"I particularly remember these three friends...". The opening titles of an immortal film: epic and intimate, set to the rhythms of the seasons of life. A "magnum opus" on male friendship: the "surfers" as modern knights, loyal, never subdued, and charmingly sexist. The waves are ridden with a disregard for the looming danger; the new man stands alone before the fury of the elements, awaiting the re-evaluation of all values. A Nietzschean film, deeply infused with love for man and for the cosmos; for romantic Nazis, personal yet universal: a film for everyone and for no one.

A moving farewell to Brel - buried at the Marchesi - from the old, talented friend
"I'm sure that today/You are caressing the breasts/Of Gauguin’s women/And that he paints Amsterdam./You both watch/The sun rise/Over the lagoons/Where white horses gallop/And your laughter reaches me,/In cascades, in torrents/And crosses the sea/And the sky and the winds/And your voice still sings."

Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Lucky Man
#largoaidinosauri (142)
And let's get this tooth out too ahah. In my concept of noble rock dinosaurs, they are obviously part of it (always because otherwise I wouldn't understand a damn thing) but let's say that ... I haven't listened to them since I was twenty, to be clear. As far as I remember, their debut is the one that annoys me the least, while "Lucky Man" is a normal song. Sorry Emerson, you're immense but I can't stand you ahah. Anyway, I've got all three of them and they're kept in perfect condition! I'm waiting for you noble prog men ahahah.

Oh How We Danced Track 7: How Much Can A Man Really Take This is (perhaps) the most beautiful song from a very beautiful album, truly very beautiful. At least before the final ecstasy of the title track (the only cover on the album). The solo debut of an inspired Jim Capaldi (accompanied by great session musicians and the usual gang of companions). A fresh and captivating album; I prefer works like this over the, albeit valid, offerings from Traffic in the last three years.
