"Aviary" by Julia Holter is one of the best albums of 2018.
Like her other works, it rarely appears in the many year-end lists.
Her music remains confined to a circle of devoted listeners. It is captivating yet navigates border territories where sophistication meets pop. Too pop for the "cultured" listens, yet too sophisticated for "pop" audiences. This positioning on a fine line is costing her in terms of popularity, despite consistently producing work that exceeds the average. Just one listen of "Aviary" makes it clear that we are in the presence of a Superior artist, worthy of greater attention. But that's how the world goes.

#MY2018 °°°° Ancient Methods - Walking On Cursed Soil (feat. Prurient) [AMIII]
"The Jericho Record", the first real work by producer Ancient Method is a bomb (Tum Tum Tum) techno @[sfascia carrozze] A straight shot, combining elements that we only realize exist when everything implodes. Ambient parentheses and weā€™re off, sitting on a speeding train and from the windows, we see quite strange ethnic figures, dark ongoing works, always straight and fast. Why do these strange figures appear and disappear so quickly? But they are still; it's our windows moving at high speed. Seemingly uniform but rich in eccentric characters who wave us Ciao Ciao !!
